Deathwatch Guard and Star Children will be sponsering a roleplaying event on Thursday November 1st at 10pm central time. Please bring a level 1 or 2 character to roleplay. Be prepared to act "in character," you can talk as your character or use party chat if you are more comfortable. We have some roleplaying suggestions in the forums on our website, dwg.guildportal.com. In addition, there are several roleplaying threads on the forums. We look forward to seeing everyone there. For more information, check out our website or the event on the Khyber calender in this forum.

This is going to be a permanent event, every thursday at 10pm in the Leaky Dinghy (why the Dinghy? All characters have access to it and there will be no PvP confusion with the Lobster). Level 1-2 characters so everyone starts out at the same place, even though some may progress differently. Any actually questing that goes on will depend on who you hook up with and how the roleplaying plays out. The plan is to keep these as recurring characters that be played anytime, at this event every week, or once-in-a-while when you feel like roleplaying. New players and old, alike, are welcome to come and try it out.

Your guild must be one of the most active and fun group of people to game with!

I had fun last night. Both in starting a new character and meeting some of the guild members.
As soon as I can I'll try to hook up my main (level 5, I know, an impressive main) with DWG.
Thanks again, see you again next week, and hopefully sooner.

Thank you Tosh for coming, I had a great time as well. It was actually my first time roleplaying in DDO and it was a lot more fun than I thought it would (the same way PvP turned out to be). We have several guildmembers working on bringing up low level characters, myself included. I have an 8, a 5 and a 3 (now thanks to last night). We had two more people join us who also had low level characters who were new to the game or new to the server. It was a very successful event and I look forward to running "regular" characters with you and the others as well as to next week when we do this again.

Was there an event or theme, or was this simply a "there will be lots of RP'ers around at this time" sort of event?

Ergo, This time out it was the latter, just hanging out and running some quests while staying "in character". But who knows in the future. I've run RP events in MMO's before and could see it working out in DDO.

This was the first roleplaying event that we sponsored. I was looking to gauge some interest and use it as a place to get started for guildmembers and servermembers alike who are interested in this style of play. This is going to be a weekly event and will get more intricate as support for it grows. Right now, we had enough people to put a good group together to go adventuring. That is the point of the game isn't it? Even if you're roleplaying, you don't really want to stand around in the bar. For the first night, we just hung out together and ran a couple of low level quests. I expect that over time we will be running more groups, more difficult quests, and more elaborate events (everything from themed events to actual tournament style roleplaying for prizes, ala a Dungeons and Dragons Convention).

/bump to remind people that we are going to be roleplaying again tomorrow night (11/15 at 11pm Eastern) in the Leaky Dinghy. I look forward to see everyone there. I will be the Bard playing and dancing on the bar (or maybe a table).
