Has the daily grind gotten boring? Perma-Death got you depressed? Got lots of twink gear cluttering up your bank?

Level One is looking for fellow nubs. Level 1 is a new "perma-noob" guild. No level advancement is allowed, so you max out at 1.4

The goal is to see how "good" you can get with a level 1 character, full twinking required (Most likely).

I'd like to see a party of level 1 characters completing some quests like Co6, SC, Vamp, or maybe Threnal.

I know it sounds sorta weird/dumb but honestly, I've been having more fun lately playing my "perma-noob" character than I've had in Months. It's pretty challenging and it sure makes the quests a lot more interesting.

My build is a UMD intimi-tank but I'd love to party with some other builds.

Try it out, if you get bored, no biggie you wont lose any great items or time spent advancing :)

p.s. So far I've solo'd (without dying): Waterworks,Catacombs (minus dryden), and half of tangleroot. Imagine a whole party of first level guys owning Stormcleave or Delera's Tomb, it would be a blast!

Send me a PM or mail in game if you'd like to run a group and try it. I can set you up with good level 1 gear if you dont have any.

Thanks,

Ungada

Very cool idea. Out of the norm and something very viable.

I've done a lot of those quests on elite in the harbor as a level one except kobold assault and irestone (and obviously invaders, HIPs, etc). I haven't attempted normal runs on the others, but I'd be game. My only level one ready to play is Relics, Mithral Warforged Ranger. Been busy with my LOTRO kinship, but if you've a group formed and I can meet the times, I'll show up with Relics (or possibly one of my Mabar 28-point-acquisitions).

How does a lvl 1 fighter get SR20 with self buffing?

I assume you have a mith tower and CE active on your ac pic, but not on your to hit pic? If not, how can you get to 37AC?

And how do you get to +15 attack?

+5 str
+2 weapon (rr +2)
+1 weapon focus
+1 morale (Bless clickie)
+1 luck (Divine favor clickie)
and...?

It'd be nice to know what your sustainable ac/to hit is. Its not reasonable to assume 12 clickies due to activation time, but one or two per fight sure.

I'm going to guess Divine Power is included in there as well because of the 22 STR in one of the shots.

+6 STR
+2 Weapon
+1 Base Attack
+1 Weapon Focus
+2 Action Boost
+1 Divine Favor
+1 Bless

I got to 14 anyway.

I have a lvl 1 halfling thrower has a similar to-hit. :)
+5 DEX
+4 Weapon (old non-level restricted returning throwing daggers)
+1 Base Attack
+1 Weapon Focus
+1 Size Bonus
+1 Racial Throwing Weapon Bonus
+1 Divine Favor
+1 Bless
+2 Action Boost

for +17 to hit
or add
+4 Precision
+21 to hit, but only 1/2 damage...

House P buffs would add +2 from DEX increasees.
So a +23 in theory.

Well divine power clickies are all much higher than lvl 1, and I am almost sure that they cannot drop from WW/STK with no min level. They should be lvl 5 for a 1 charge restricted clickie.

As for precision, forgot to include that. Ive got one of those no-min lvl +4 returners from way back when myself :D

How are you going to open higher level quests like say, CO6, like you said, with lvl 1s, and still get experience?

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that exp isn't their top concern....

Hi, lemme see if i can answer off the top of my head:

When I say self buffed, that does include any favor buffs I would actually be using in quests.

SR20 is obtained by wearing a Scarab of Protection, It gives you SR20 and 12 charges of Death/Negative energy absorbtion, I wear it when I know I wont be getting any negative energy spells cast on me as they drain the charges (It works really good in lowbie quests). I have to swap out my deflection +1 trinket (Dusty Rose Ioun Stone) but if Im using SoF for +2 deflection I dont need the Ioun Stone anyways.

I don't know if you can even have CE at level 1, but you get defensive fighting for free and that is what I use as a poor mans CE. Its a +2 AC bonus for me while active.

FYI
Feats: Bullheaded, SF:UMD, Dodge
max umd 16
max intimidate 18 or 19 i think

Standing AC
10 base
10 armor +2 mfp
3 max dex bonus
4 shield +2 hvy shield
1 dodge feat
1 deflection dusty rose ioun stone
=29 standing AC

Buffed AC:
10 base
10 armor +2 mfp
3 max dex bonus
4 shield +2 hvy shield
1 dodge feat
2 natural (umd barkskin scroll)
2 deflection (Shield of Faith potion)
1 dodge haste (clicky 1/day ww reward)
2 dodge defensive fighting stance
2 dodge human versatility I or Fighers Action Boost I (AC boost)
=37

Usually I lose the Defensive fighting and maintain a 32 to 35 AC in most combat situations where I feel the need for extra AC. I only use Def.Fighting when Im Shield blocking, holding aggro.

I could get house J buffs and increase my max AC by 1 from the SoF+3 they give you, but I didn't include it here since I haven't earned that favor yet. In addition, I could find a +2 MTS and if I made Ungada a dwarf I could use Dwarven Armor Mastery I, and For a max buffed AC of 41/43 (blocking).

Attack bonus:
+6 STR 22 (raged+bulls str)
+1 BAB
+2 weapon
+2 Morale bonus Heroism clicky (1/day ww reward)
+1 DF
+2 Action boost/human versatility
+1 Haste (1/day ww reward)
=+15 to hit

Like I mentioned before, these are max stats typically reserved for tough mobs/bosses. I usually run around with a 32-35 ac and +12 to hit or so.

I would have to argue with the effective number of clickies you can use in a fight, some of them have effects that last 3 minutes. Combined with the longer durations buffs, I can usually use 3 or 4 short term clickys/boosts to give me enough umph to take out a big ogre or acane etc before it gets me.

I have to either get a kind soul to help open or simply switch to one of my alts. Solo, I guess I would have to have to use my 2nd computer and reactivate an account to keep a level appropriate party member at the entrance of the quests to be able to advance on through multi stage quests (with all the doors I cant open). I maxed out on XP at 19999 i think so that's not a concern.

As far as finding other Perma-noobs to play with, I haven't had any luck making converts to the whole no leveling up idea (lol) so its just been me and whoever is bored enough to open up quests for me to solo. I play in some groups for fun/favor or help other lowbies thru waterworks, since I run it alone so often (its faster typically that with a full pug) and I still need +2 STR gloves.

update: Solo'd Halls of STK, but the Guardian took two trys and one of the elementals was bugged and not attacking. Ill come back to brag if I can do it in one shot.
1st try he stomped/tripped me and followed up with a 57 pt critical that finished me off ...with all the earthgrabs and stomps attacks i'd have to be pretty lucky to complete it in one run.
