Hello all:
I have a pure lvl 14 Paladin. (Yes I know Gangwulfe will be thrilled ;) ) I was wondering why it is that I can cast the Restoration spell from my spell list, yet I cannot use a divine scroll of the same spell. If one looks at the scroll, it is only listed for clerics. Also, I can of course use Cure Serious wands, but the scroll is cleric only. A guildmate of mine swears he can use Restoration scrolls with his Paladin, but I forgot to ask if he is a UMD build. Anyone know what gives?

u should be able to use any scroll as long as u are able to cast it naturally..even if u have no umd

I used to use Restoration scrolls all the time on my 14 paladin and he had n/a for UMD. Perhaps they made a change to the scrolls with the recent mod or patch? What happens when you use it? Check your combat log for a UMD check or a spell failure check.

Not all scrolls are properly labeled for what level you no longer have to make caster level checks. I know there are a couple others out there but none come to my mind at the moment.

The scrolls are working right. It is just a labeling issue.

Post a bug about it the next time you're in game. Won't help you for that day, but can get it on the list of things to fix for the next update.

The scrolls are working right. It is just a labeling issue.Right. After some investigation I did find that Paladins make caster level checks against the level at which you can cast it (L14 for Restoration): 1d20 + (2*your level) >= 2*14.
Even a L5 Paladin (min character level to use a Restoration scroll) can successfully use a Restoration scroll on a roll of 18+.

There should be no ASF as it's a Divine, not Arcane spell scroll. And please check if it's accidentally (bugged) using UMD instead of caster level.
