View Full Version : Whats it worth - weakening of enfeebling

I recently dropped a +2 weakening of enfeebling rapier.
Now I realize this is not a wounding of puncturing but a very similar combo on a sought after weapon class (finessable piercer).
When a creature is weakened/enfeebled, they dont die quicker, but they essentially stop moving/attacking once their strength is reduced. Some one told me that if you get their stat down to zero they will die also.
So... what do you all think this is worth?
And what would you offer for this item?
Depending on the responses, this may turn into an auction.
Thank you !

I tell ya what, I have had a rapier on my trade list for months now and no one is interested in it. I'm not sure if you'll fair much better but I wish you luck.

It's a good item, but it was likely the one on the auction house for a 800k plat min bid just a day or two ago.
I'd personally pay about 400k for it, but that's just me. No doubt a rogue would find it useful, although 800k+ useful is a bit dubious.
Why don't you also post a list of wants, that should give people some ideas on what to offer as well.

Yes, it was that over priced one on the AH. I had sold a +1 version of it almost instantly (less than 20 min after post) for a much lower buyout, almost 1/10th the price so I figured Id fish and see what I could get for the +2 variety. I figured it was probably too high (and it didnt sell so apparently it was) but you never know what some people will pay and its pretty cheap to post and 'test the waters'.
As for posting what I want, well I am not sure. Dont wanna post anything to crazy like some of the ones seen in various threads (everyone is looking for the same uber rare stuff) and frankly, I think I would rather get coin for it. It gets so frustrating trying to trade for items sometimes because the buyer and seller are so far apart on what they want or the seller has totally twinked alts and its next to impossible to find the one item they are hoping for (reasonably or not). Take my dwarven fighter for example: he is my main and is the second incarnation of the original caell from 16 months ago. Over that time I have pretty well amased a ridiculous amount of uber axes and stuff that to try and hold out for something he WANTS//NEEDS would drive me and the buyer mad.
Wow, I can run off and get all wordy... whew.
Basically, i am asking what people think about this as a usefull weapon combo (vs similar types, wound/punct being the most recent must have will sell myfamily for item) and yes, to see if people will offer me a fair price for it. So far, a little of both has happened. If you are looking at this as an Auction, then I will not sit here and hold out forever but will make a decision in a few short days.
Thanks for all the input. :)

They'll stay moving and attacking... But their attacks don't do anything.

Nope. Currently(as of some testing last night) they will reach a point where every hit is a critical. So, yes, indirectly they will die... Not too much in the game that can stand up to chain critical hits for very long.
So... what do you all think this is worth?
Depends on the character. I use weakening weapons when I am soloing on a low str character... The rest of the time I just kill stuff quickly. I don't think I've ever bothered to break out a melee weakening weapon if I have a full party around.
And what would you offer for this item?
Nothing... I'm on Argo! I just wanted to let you know how the weakening effect is working.
Depending on the responses, this may turn into an auction.
Thank you !
My thoughts in red...

I did not realize that, good to know.

Yeah, I just logged into PVP and tried it out. Looks like you are correct; when an enemy is reduced to zero the do NOT die but all hits on them are critical hits. I still wonder about the moving around part though. In PVP, when a player is reduced to 0 they can still move freely, but in the gaem, monsters used to stop moving and attacking when this happened but I am not sure about that now. I will have to go try it on some monsters later.

That's a really nice PvP weapon you have there. Great for tearing up a raging barbarian while at the same time spitting in his eye.
Since the devs made that ******** lesser restore change, Barbarians can't use the potions while raging. So despite str being their highest stat, you can tear them down right quick... and they can't do squat about it. That's where the spitting in the eye part comes from: you chose their strongest stat, then killed them with that.
