Anyone on Argo beaten the Abbot?

I haven't heard of anyone yet...but then again, we aren't allowed to brag about it on the forums. I can say that LK is close! Next time we get 12 people on to try it I think we have a good shot at beating it. I think that goes for alot of guilds. If nobody here has beaten him yet, I'd expect it to happen before the end of the weekend. Death to the Abbot!

My guild hasn't made much effort to do it lately. It's kind of a crappy raid with mostly crappy drops. The things that drop in the orchard are MUCH better then the raid items. The Abbot is mostly a luck raid, its not really skill imo. I'd like to beat it.....but I'm in no rush to do so.

That seems to be the general consensus. I would like to have that staff and the Litany of the Dead on my wizard, maybe a few copies of The litany if possible....but its primary usefulness won't come about until he has a +3 int tome in him, 36 int ftw....

I agree with Asp. A lot of people in OD are pushing to get raid ready (and we have a ton that are) and they want to get into the raid. I feel bad that I can't be more on board with flagging but I've just heard to many bad stories about bugs, bad design of the raid, and issues with the side quests that make having a perfect internet connection and voice ability a must which I don't agree with. As such I'm going to keep playing my awesome new WF wizzy and get into the raid in my own sweet time.

Seems like getting my guildies all raid ready is a freaking nightmare. It's virtually impossible to get a 6 man group to stay together long enough to get them all tagged for pre-raid. By the time I get 1 or 2, maybe 3 ready, one person drops and another person with a nearly empty sigil joins in. :mad:

And too many people are playing lowbies to get enough people in on the raid, it seems.

Oh I am, I'm fully prepared for the aching hours it will take to get people used to the twitch necessary to beat that guy. Apparently some of my friends have almost perfectly figured out two of the puzzles (not the goggles), but I haven't been around to see it. I might have some misleading info there too, who knows how well they've got it down :confused: I'm just getting a little annoyed with it all. Beating the raid isn't a priority for me, but I'd like to at least try it on my HOME server soon.

I choose not to use Voice Chat when I PuG. I tend to swear A LOT when I get frustrated with the average PuG idiot. I'd rather not have the person/s get upset because I can't help my disappointment.

This is, basically, exactly the case. It would have been a lot more fun if they just made it a VERY difficult beat-down fight. I mean this guy is a freakin demi-god lich....Hand him some nasty magic and just let him sorceror-speed cast on us. Maybe a few undead summons....the puzzles are sorta stupid though it sounds, although finishing them can make the raid a lot easier. Bleh.....

agreed but I am only running this on my Soc not my evasion Paly at the moment and all saves are in the 20-22 range..not bad for a Soc:rolleyes:

I've run it enough to know to cast all the resistances and KEEP myself buffed with fire and electrical elemental protections. The only thing that has ever killed me in this quest is that silly inferno. *added* and jumping off or falling off the goggles puzzle :)

QFT, if there's one thing this mod should have taught us all, it's that straight lines and not strafing is bad. That maximized disintegrate won't even force you to make a save if it can't hit you. And the same goes for firewalls and lightning, moving properly prevents being hit.

and standing completely still is only for noobs :rolleyes:

Something that might work a bit better than shame is organization. Like posting times for certain sigil piece runs for those who still need to complete the sigils. I, myself, have had a completed sigil for several days but no one's been in a hurry to take me through the preraids.

I do have that silly thing called work which has been making me log on later and leave earlier, but I still see no reason, if someone can walk me through the preraids, why I can't be raid ready by Friday/Saturday.

I've still got half a mind to have them file a ADA violation lawsuit against Turbine. No! Why should I? I mean all I do all day is either run financial analysis on different part of my company to see if I can find underlying patterns that are contributing to their good/poor performance, run calculations on our workforce to see where we can increase pay, deal with a ton of different HR issues such as funding of our retirement plan or what our total benefits costs are and how we are going to keep giving our employees the benefits packages they are asking for or dealing with a boss that doesn't get along with the second-in-command so has me attend any meeting that he is at instead of going herself and then have the GM ask me why I'm there instead of her. So thinking about women and who and when will be my next conquest is the only way that I stay sane at times. It's either that or drinking and you've heard me when I'm drinking.

if you are spending $15 a month to play a game that NEEDS ...high end graphics and high end processors and 2 gigs of memory...go to best buy and spend $500 it will stop all the GARBAGE of lag...I have had 0% lag in since buying new computer in Dec...if you are using a 3 year old pc its your MACHINE... not the game..... so stop the lag talk thats your option.... your cell phone bill is $125....stop talking so much.... and buy a new machine....thre is NO lag....its your machine...or your in oKLAHOMA:p

Hey A-hole high-end graphics and processors aren't needed to play the game and 2 GB of mem certainly isn't. Most lag is from the IP connection not the client or the server.

MORE IMPORTANTLY - not once did I say anything about lag so ST*U.

And while I'm not from OK, I certainly have friends there so STF* about OK as well.
