....So, here I am.
My name is Sequestria...Isolatine...
Not my real name, but to relieve the financial and other debts associated with my given name, reduce the risk of those with power getting hold of my Real name and to prevent embarassment to my family...who I still love thought they love me not...Sequestria Isolatine will do.

I am a bard.
I am Drow.
As you could posibly divine from these statements, my departure from my home was met with some joyful celebrations...Well, as joyful as my people get...without sacrifice. No, let us just say that I was more saddened than my people at my taking leave.

Long had I enjoyed the artful crafting of song, the passing of jokes and the encourage of merriment among my peers only to find my pastimes caused my peers pain and that I was intollerable. So I left. There was much fanfare including torches and the lobbing of ripened friuts and vegetables. I think there may have been less desireable things thrown but as I was in a hurry to rush my departure and avoid the undoubted tearful sceen...Well, I didn't stop to look.

Needless to say, this poet, this wandering monstrel, loves fun and games. I seek them out at every turn, I love making others dance and sing and caper about in ways they never before thought possible..

I love the Clownin', so to speak.

My arrival into Stormreach was less eventful than I expected. Due to the fanfare of my departure and the mistrust others have of drow, I expected to be sent back much like I was sent off. But no. In point of fact, I was hardly noticed.
Ignored.
I felt unjustly ostracised from the pack and only much later realized that it was not me. It was not my race that put me aside. It was in fact my career choice.

People wondered, "What is a bard? Can you disable traps? Can you kill with a spell? Can you handle geat life saving powers, call the very gods to do your bidding? Can you kill lots of monsters?"

My answer was, "No...But I can inspire those who can!"

Their response was a resounding...No Thanks.

But I digress...This was long ago.

I made it my personal mission to dance the danceless, sing songs to the disheartened, give hope to the hopeless.

Though the effect of my presence was not at first noticed, soon, the lack there of was.

At first, parties of adventurers would let me tag along if I promised them I would keep their healer protected and alive. This helped my usability and my popularity. I would beg parties to let me be thier main healer...This met with much mistrust...I offered to help with controlling crowds of monsters, but as the effects of my control are lasting but easily broken by my fellows, they were not seen as an asset. And most had little patience to let me work.

As I grew in knowledge and skill, parties would bring me along as an oddity.
"What does a bard do? I laugh out loud at the fact you make me look good! Record the number of things I kill and lay that number beside the numer you have slain and let us compare!" others would say...

Oft, others would bring me to make themselves feel more virile. I accepted this. I like the fact that they did not realize their kills could also be counted as mine as they were often in less peril with than without me. Often things went more smoothly than if there was another fighter in the party rather than me.

I kept quiet, observed, made necessary tactical changes, collected an array of unusable weapons and equipment...harshly restricted to those rarely seen... The party's cast offs became my treasured plunder...Things they would have left behind I paid money for...and used to great advantage.

When I had reached a level of knowledge I thought I could not surpass, I fell in with a jovial lot of rapscallions that seemed to me to need no one!.
Their travel and adventures had made them salwart, brave and true. I have much enjoyed their companionship.
<sigh>
Traveling with them, I was soon tasked with things I had thought impossible and beyond my skill... I found myself wanting to succeed in accomplishing every request they made, reaching goals they set and doing...the impossible.
Through their daunting demands, their insurrmountable intangible intentions, I found the impossible both plausable...and eventually possible and necessary.

I have found, through my travels, that...
Not every place is the same.
Every group needs to be dynamic.
Not everyone hates the same things.
Every player needs to discover their role.
Not everyone knows the plan, no matter the pains you took to explain them.
Everyones role can change from moment to moment.
Not every mistake is bad.
Every pitfall has a silver lining.
Not every death is in vain.
Every part must be played...by someone.

I have found that it is not in what you can do...but what you will do that makes you valuable.

I have learned that isolation does not suit me.

I have learned...I can never go home.
And that my home is right here..
Welcome...come on in...and be sure to wipe your feet.

But you did not cry for my blood...
Obviously, you have adapted well to your environs here in Stormreach, and have found a place where your skill and expertise are appreciated...

You are what non-drow would call...well adjusted.

My true calling is the front line and yes I am no drow When at the line of battle. There are times I have the calling to be a scout a lock pick that is when I become one of great drow. Then my name is DarthDrow locks traps jump off the wall and up from the floor begging me to undo thier harmful intents.
