I can only think of 3 from Riedra that still exist, and I don't believe any of the founders actually get on the forums anymore. thousand eyes, dwarven defenders, and order of the scarlet leaf are the 3 I'm thinking of and I know a lot of their officers get on here, just not the founders to often.
Best bet is to hit the water fountain and then compare to the who panel.

here you go...ransack used to be dorsai and was active in beta...the leader of dorsai left and that was before you could pass off the leader of the guild to the successor...there are about 30 people in my guild that have been around since beta and we've lost about 30 people to other mmorpgs out there...

We're still here. I'm curious to know what this is all about.

He didn't ask for an entire list of guilds from Riedra, he's asking for founding guilds, ie guilds that are still around that can be seen in the fountain in the harbor

The Ashen wouldn't be a founding guild because I thought it was formed when onslaught disbanded. I remember reading a post about it a long long time ago...

Correct, Ashen came from onslaught, Ransack from dorsai, Legion of Cold Children came from 3 other guilds that banded together, holy Warriors might be a founding guild, I know they have been around a while, as well as Fallen Heroes, order of eminence I believe was an ashen break off group, while I have ran with guildless guild a lot I don't know their history, or that of elite farmers.

The Dragon Order of Arcanix...
you will see it in the fountain as Dragon order of arcanix (I believe)...lowercases, minus "The".
Riven, Yendreath, myself (as an old toon Aric) Gilgrim now.
Riven was the GL when it was founded.

Dwarven Defenders is probably the oldest guild left from Riedra, I know Durak founded it early on and it's been ticking albeit under different leadership ever since.
Holy Warriors is the high tier of Trinity and to be truthful I've seen very little of them before May of last year, so am not sure when the guild was created on Riedra... I know Blacroc been with them for some time after leaving Soldiers on Parade, but you'd have to ask him really how far that guild stretches back, am sure that info was passed to him.
Fallen Heroes, was created from the remnants of Fallen Kingdom when Nasorie stopped plaing and we had but one officer left - Riftbows.. the guys pushed me into creating it... that was late May 2006. Before that I was in Strakarr's guild for a few days and then Dorsai for a day when it disbanded.
Onslaught from Riedra as we know it today was not the guild back then as the plug was pulled and Milton picked up the pieces in turn built the Ashen.
The thing about Riedra guilds was that Riedra at peak was a population of 1500+ when I first started playin on it back after release and the founding guilds swelled in populations which became mis-managable, I remember Dorsai bumping the guild limit quite often... and the members of those large guilds had so many clic's they were unrecognizable as a single entity really, I remember Stugart telling me when I join Dorsai ... people just do whatever they want here. Anyway, when Riedra's population declined most the larger guilds split into factions and people stumbled away into other guilds, not that it mattered because everyone practically knew each other by then on Riedra, the server itself felt like a guild.

Actually Durak still is, and always has been, the Dwarven Defenders guild leader. That hasn't changed. :)

Order of the Scarlet is a founding Guild. The guild founder was Xanofere (he is now gone to Tablua Rasa) current Leader is Ravanik.

ccheath, Gengulphus is, as you know, an elder (officer) in KOTA and he has been in DDO since beta. Gengulphus joined KOTA in headstart.
So, what do you have planned?

Kraki / Hali / Qantaqa is the leader and another founder from the guild...if that helps with anything :)
Dwarven Defenders is probably the oldest guild left from Riedra...
I do know we've been around since beta, founded by Guinness (who is on to other things).

Not sure when Holy warriors was founded, I started playing in April, and didn't join until around the end of May/Begining of June.
It is the highest Tier of the Trinity Guild, and Blakroc is the Leader.
The Trinity Guild was formed by Abbott, and he still is the "Trinity Guild Leader".
The Trinity Guild consists of Divine Calling (Levels 1-5) Devoted Acolytes (Levels 6-10) and Holy Warriors (Levels 11+)
As it was created as a Tier Guild, It's a good bet that Divine Calling and Devoted Acolytes are older than Holy Warriors.
I know Legion of Cold Children was formed around November of 2006, it was mostly members of Holy Warriors and Friendly Faces. I believe Red is still the Guild Leader of LoCC.

The fountain is only a partial list of founding guilds. A guild had to have a certain number of members to be listed on the fountain which eliminates a lot of small guilds that were around like the Unsung Heroes and several others.
I can't remember if it was 10 or 25 members required to be listed on the fountains as that was quite a while ago.

Guilds that are created during the Head Start Event and have ten or more members at the end of the Head Start Event, will gain a special in-game item for their characters – a founder's helmet that will grant its wearer an additional five hit points*
Guilds that have 25 or more members at the end of the Head Start Event will be commemorated by having their guild name engraved in an in-game marker and be listed in a special founders section of the official web site

Dragon Masters is listed on the fountain and barely still going (though most of the head start founders are sleeping under the mountain for another year waiting for monks as a silent protest to the lack of a dungeon-per-week ;)).

My understanding of this guild, the founders were Littlefoot, Herloc, Avangelia, Ink, Ipod. The idea originated from Little and Herloc I believe. The leadership was then given to Ink, with littlefoot staying on as second. So far, all original founders are in and active. Any of the other guildless please provide comment and corrections.

We're still anxiously awaiting what you have in store for the founding guilds of the best three servers.
Your best bet for the Dwarven Defenders is to contact Fundin, Cerberus or Delard as Durak has been on vacation for a few now.

Quiet death was a founding guild, missed the 25 member mark by just a toon or two. Leadership has only changed once, but most of the main founding people are still around.

Hello all and well met. The Dwarven Defenders have been around since launch, to the best of my knowledge we are the oldest guild left from Reidra. I didnt join the forum until after launch because Im more of a gamer than a typer, but we are very old. I saw MANY guilds form and die while the Defenders struggled on. Some I hated to see fall apart but some buckled under thier own weight. As far as I can remember 1000 eyes have been around as long as we have but they might have reformed I'm not sure. All guilds will eventually go through the stress of age. New guilds emerge old players fall off, exc. I do know this, I have met a good many people in this game that I have the oppertunity of calling friend even tho I have never had the oppertunity to sit down and drink an ale with them.
Most of the old players are gone, outside my guild the ones I remember most are Fatty, Quicktozzy, Goodfella, Cyre, Slival (Blah), Gasalt (spelling), Doc, and Telc (LOL god hes still around) there are a bunch more, but the names evade me. Im not sure but Me and Telc might be some of the only players on that list still around. I also want to say I'm sorry to anyone I didn't put on there for the lack of my mental brainpower.
As far as old guilds, Fallen Heros, Legion of the Cold Children, 1000 Eyes, and Order of the Scarlet Leaf, QUiet Death, most of the other old guilds have either disbanded or reformed. When we merged with Khyber, a lot of the guilds were eaten by the politics and stability that had already set in on this foreign server. For instance, when we were on Reidra our guild was one of the most highly respected guilds on the server. Since merging with Khyber, we have become insignificant and have struggled to stay afloat. Even us, a very old guild have lost some of our most prized and loved members to the wind. I've seen many of our own members quit playing over these last two years but some of your oldest players still reside under the banner of the Dwarven Defenders. We are always willing to help out a person new to the game or show an old player new tricks but the fact is guilds struggle to stay afloat. It's a fact of the game. No matter how big or small a guild is, it will always see trouble. Maybe that trouble isn't bad players, players quitting the game or sheer size, it may simply be the fact of age that will tear a guild apart.
When you ask what are the founding guilds of each server, you have to look at each guild that is currently a part of our beloved game. Many have morphed, merged, or simply disbanded but I am sure that many of the original players are still around and have started guilds of their own or joined guilds that they respect. I love this game and plan to be here until the end even if my play time is not what it once was before The Dragon, or even The Titan, but I still play and I'm still here, where I will always be.
