And still no official feedback as to why non US residents are excluded? Or even if they are excluded from the contest or just winning a prize?

The simple reason is U.S. laws. It is that plain and complicated.

Wirting a guide is incredibly long MT, not that I think you don't know it. Any page on the wiki can represent hours of work. There is research to be done, you have to be sure of your information. Not to mention you try to have a writing style enjoyable to read. Guides are the same.

I think they prefered to be safe than sorry.
