Awesome.

I started the update, it hung up, so I restarted.

Now it does the "updating" then when it goes to update the next phase it says "core data corrupted."

Is there a fix for this?
If the solution is to remove this program and re-install through all patches, i'm going to have to pass.

One of the client_?.dat files got corrupted, so if you have a friend close by that can burn the file to a cd and give it to you, that is an option.

You an also backup the 9 (10 with high res) client_?.dat files to an alternat location on your drive.

Find out what file is getting locked up then do the repair feature on the game from the install. After that is done cop y all those dat files back except the one that is was getting locked up on. And then it should only need to update to the new mod.

Good Luck

Thank you.

After a few attempts at fixing it in that manner, I gave up and had to re-install the entire program. I tried many other things as well.

Repair attempts don't work with the retail discs, probably because it is an update that wasn't on the CDs. Also, repairing via the launcher option does not work. It's unfortunate that the programming is designed so that an update can't be rolled back and installed from the previous point. So if a 1kb file is ruined or interrupted, you're stuck having to deal with complex or time consuming fixes. Unacceptable, really.

All it takes is for an updater to have a few basic diagnostic options...that's on my wish list for Turbine's future developments with DDO.

Oh well.
