'Examine Game Data' Hangup

For the past hour or so the launcher has been hanging up at the 'Examine Game Data' step. Just keeps clocking and retrying. Rebooted, no difference.

Error:

"An update error has occured:
Unable to decrypt and de-serialize the data downloaded from the server."

Risia runs fine, net is fine. Help!

Uncheck UAC (User access Control) under control panel, user preferences. Reboot and all should be good.

If it is XP make sure the dndclient.exe and dndlauncher.exe are in your firewall exception lsit.. also for vista...

Friend of mine said a news update addressed this? Please post the link if anyone has it.

I've restarted (and reinstalled) the client several times. Checked fw settings, un/reinstalled .net and supporting files, restored the game files and launcher to defaults, cursed at it, etc. I'm stumped. Hopefully tech support has more ideas...

well, not exactly. mine hangs on updating every time.

What firewall do you have? Do you have a router? What security programs do you have active? (antivirus? Spyware, etc.)

DDO fanatics can be quite resourceful when it comes to figuring out why their game wont run. anyway..

POINT TO NOTE
DDO has to be installed on the 'C' drive, or the same drive that windows is installed on. I had it on 'D' for space reasons, and it didn't like it.

I can download it or reinstall from the DDO install files from a previous download. Either will install. It checks, finds updates, and loads. Everything is fine. I play. I close DDO. When I try to open it again later, it will never make it past the Examining Game Data point. I have to uninstall it, reinstall it each time I want to play. I have tried some hack from the Tech Support forum where you download client maps and cells dat, but even that doesn't work. The odd bit is I have two identical systems, one died form the CPU overheating. It ran DDO fine. This one has had this problem from the start (around Update 7). Other things I have looked into are my Firewall settings, no issues - everything is unblocked. I have sufficient Windows privileges (otherwise it wouldn't run the first time reliably). This is really starting to ruin my experience.
