Ok, I'm not going to profess this as some great strategy. But it's definitely funny. And at the same time has some beneficial abilities.
This is heavily gear related.
Take your standard "Riott Tank" or high Intimidate build.
It's taken a while but I finally got the gear combo I've been looking for.
But here's the essential pieces.
=============================================
+5 Mithral Tower Shield of Bashing or Ward of Undead Shield -
With Improved Shield Mastery (DR24) and Improved Shield bash.
Bramble Casters - Greater Spearblock (dr 10/slashing or bludgeon), ThornGuard (1d8 damage to attackers)
+4 Adamantine Lightning Guard Full Plate - 1d8 Lightning to Attackers. DR3
Or
Black Dragon Armor - 3D8 damage to undead Attackers.
Lion headed Belt - +4 Strength, +4 Con, Immune to Fear, Roar (Causing melee attackers to resist or be Shaken and take damage)
Sickle of Fire Shield 3/day
Cloak of Ice - Chill Shield 3/day
Jungle Cloak - Regen 5Hp per tick, up to 100 HP.
Human Recovery 2, makes this 6 HP per tick instead of 5.
================================================== ==
Basically, I've lowered my AC a bit to around 47-52.
I want mobs to hit me, just not super fast.
Anything that does hit me, has to go through DR 27, Or DR 34 if it's Peirce based.
And they take 2d8 +4 Damage in return. (4D8+4 Vs. Undead)
PLUS they become shaken! Thereby reducing their abilities more.
Add in Both Shield spells and this boosts that by 2d6 +10. Fire and Cold based.
Total Porcupine Damage = 2D8 + 2D6 + 14 = Avg. 30 Damage per Hit.
Or Vs. Undead = 4D8 + 2D6 +14 = Avg. 39 Damage per hit.
================================================== ==
With the Jungle cloak active the small damage which does get through DR if any is healed easily over time.
Good news is that Touch attacks from etherial mobs, still have to deal with your DR while shield blocking.
So they take the damage from hitting you, but their damage has to go through your DR while blocking.
Naturally this is a melee fighting style.
So not an every adventure sort of thing.
It's different, and it's pretty funny to say the least.
Enjoy.
