I was lucky enough to lead a party to battle against the pirates today. There was at least 20 of them up along the path to the trog cave. I invited +Sir, then we opened the chest. The chest had normal items for the lvl(+Sir got a regular heavy shield and pot of cure mod.) He then revealed a hidden compartment under the chest and handed a Pirate Bandanna to each of us(+1 cha +5 hide)

Yay, what fun.

A special invite, where only a small number of people actually experienced, and even then only got vendor trash as an end reward.

Woot to that.

(okay okay, I'll turn the sarcasm off)

In all seriousness, if they're going to take the time to host an in-game event, it should be worth it.

1. The levels are fine, I like the concept that this is something that mid level characters struggling for something different can do.

2. The idea that only one party, from only one instance, actually got to experience the event... that's just depressing. Heck, they could have had the pirates invade the Salty Wench, and THEN everybody heads out in search of the remaining few.

3. The end reward is something that you'd find in stk or ww and not even notice. How about something different, something unique. I like the bandana, but make it +5 to bluff and command, something that we don't see every day.

As it is, +Sir just made what... 20 people total, from every server, 30 gold pieces richer? What a wonderful booty that turned out to be.
