have searched for this, but cant seem to come up with an answer.

the spell description says that it gives +1 to attack and an additional +1 for every 3 caster levels. for all other spells I have seen with a similar description, that means it's: +1 at level 1, +2 at level 4, +3 and level 7, etc

I recently hit level 4 but still only getting +1, so what's the actual progression here. when do I get +2?

during my searching I did find reference, mainly on the pally forums, that divine favor caps at +3. is that just for pallies, or do we also cap at +3

thanks

+2/+2 at level 6
+3/+3 at level 9 - caps here

It has been a long standing complaint of many about how some of those spells are described. The authors should just put out a simple and understandable listing in the spell which says: +1 Boost, at caster level 6 boost goes to +2, at caster level 9 boost goes to +3 and caps.

Lots of other spells have similar confusing boost algorithms and are often misunderstood since other spells that sound similar do work out the same pattern.

Basically they're using an old spell description from when Divine Favor capped at +5 at lvl 12. WotC changed the spell in PnP, then Turbine changed the spell in DDO to match, but left the description.

could not agree more with the suggestion. something like this would be so much more helpful.
