I have always been a big supporter of Superior Lore and a big hater of Greenblade. I am born again brothers!

Seems like (in addition to WIZ 8 and Greater Lore) some people are forgetting about the free enhancements on that dagger that will save a few sp as well. Skiver pwns all...

Ok... so I'm using a Greenblade (depends on the situation)... why is a Greater Lore Item better?

Does a Lore/Focus Item stack with the Enhancements? Since my Sorc is already max specced in Fire lore and Focus with the enhancements... what advantage would a Fire Lore Item give over a Greenblade?

it covers both fire/and ice/acid/lightining (everything)......so all ya need is superior pot 5 (for wall of fire/cone of cold) item in the other hand if you wearing blue robe and you are all set

ya its great on a caster if you use a wide style of damage spells...no need to swap fire/ ice/ acid items

I think Lore and enhancements stack. From a logical point of view, they do. Enhancements always stack with items, that would be the only exception I could think of.

Higher number to your Crit Multiplier. Only Difference is that Greenblade covers all spells as opposed to one type.

Superior Lore = 9% Crit Chance and adds 0.5 to the crit multiplier.
Greater Lore = 9% Crit Chance and adds 0.25 to the crit multiplier.

Sorcerer Lineage of Deadly Elements III Your fire and cold spell critical multipliers are increased by an additional 0.25, bringing your base critical multiplier for these spells to 2.25.

Sorcerer Lineage of Elements III Grants a 9% chance for fire and cold spells to generate a critical hit for 1.5 times normal damage.

Sorcerer Elemental Manipulation IV Grants a 40% increase to the damage of your fire and cold spells

..in combination with a...

Superior Potency 6 and a Greenblade... +50% to all lvl 6 and lower, with a .25% to crits and a 9% increase...

.....if I'm correct...

All I get 3.75% increase to crits, that will occur 9% of the time at 190% damage from an unspecced state.

...does Greenblade add to this? Do I have it all wrong?

Base Spell Crit is X1.5 Damage.
Sorcerer Lineage of Deadly Elements III add .75 to this making it x2.25
Greenblade(Greater Arcane Lore) adds .25 to this for x2.5

Your Critcal Damge will be multipied by 2.5


Sorcerer Lineage of Elements III Gives you a 9% chance to Crit. (Base is 1% I believe)

Greenblade addes 9% to this chance making chance to crit 18%

SUperior Potency stacks with Elemental Manipulation.

SO SPeced above with a Greenblade gives you

18% Chance to Crit ona spell with that crit doing ((Spell Damage) X1.9) X 2.5

For a Wizard, Yes, Superior FIre/Ice lore is generally better. You generally spec in Fire/Ice which is a common Dmaage Type.... Just remeber to swap items per spell... (WHich is what I hate doing)

For a Cleric..... Where many of our spells are "Untyped" or have no Lore item (Searing Light, Blade Barrier, Cometfall) availabale, the ONLY way for us to up our Critical damage and Multipliers is with Arcane Lore.

Hey Scars...

D runs with a greenblade, superior potency 6, and a reaver's napkin. It's a vicious combination.

Napkin gives +1 DC on all saves against your spells so it's worth it regardless. Yes, the Greater Arcane Lore stacks with enhancements so you're throwing crits 18% of the time, which if you train them up properly, max and empower, are some incredibly huge damage numbers. Not to mention, you're carring that superior potency 6 item aren't you? Good Bacon.

So.. got rid of Greater Necro Focus.. grabbed Maximize.. got the Sup Ice and Sup Fire Lores.. wielded them in combo with My Sup Pot6.. and of course my Napkin... lol.. :D of course I got 1... and DQ 6 man.. was even easier...

..1 shot the Raks... DQ got hurt real fast... in fact.. she was dead before I hit 1/2 my mana bar...

...very nice folkes... I guess Drak was right (but don't tell him... I'll never hear the end of it:D )

...one thing I do know is... new mod.. the mana costs are lowered.. and this stuff will be even more awaesome:D

Yep - this is 100% true, regardless of the type of caster your are. Healers sometimes overlook this and stay on the hunt for Superior Devotion items when they could have the same effect from Superior Potency .. which are a good bit more common, and give you added dmg output if you use offensive casts.
