Server Merge name issue

Im an original Ghallanda player and after the server merge, there where multiple ppl with same name as me on server, I figured after a certain amount of time they would use their name change option and the problem would resolve itself.

But that has not been the case and on a nightly basis, multiple times im disturbed by ppl who think I am the other player and I think its crazy that I should have to add a few dozen ppl to my ignore list because of this. there needs to be a way to tell the ppl apart to resolve this, or there needs to be a name change deadline as in some cases i'm treated rudely due to stuff the same named char has done, and ppl who dont know me think its me.

Then theres the issue of me mailing stuff to said char and him not receiving it, and me receiving stuff intended for the other char of the same name, which I always return with a message saying they sent it to me in error.

So heres a quick recap
1. annoying tells from ppl I dont know, who think Im someone else
2. lost mail or having to pay postage for return fees to ppl who sent to me in error.
3. Being censored for other persons behavior who has same name as me.
Whats being done about this???? because I'm sure Im not the only one with this problem.

I'm posting this on several different forums in hopes that a GM sees and responds or acts on it.

How do you feel a Dev could actually respond to this? What would the SOlution be?

We merged servers.. theres going to be an amount of time for people to get used to new names and such.


You were the lucky one it seems.... You got to keep your name..... THe other folks have Name-ORIGSERVER as their name now and get to chage it to whever they want....

Its up to the ther folks with your name to inform folks about the new name. There really isnt anything a Dev can do.

I don't see anything posted that is a technical issue, just part of getting used to additional community members. Nothing you posted can be "fixed" by a dev or gm - if you are getting tells from strangers (or emails) they will have to learn that you are not that person. Same for you. As to losing mail, I'm not sure how you can send mail to the wrong person - just send them a tell first and make sure they still have the right name and you won't have misplaced letters.
