This is my first Clr and i love to play him, he is a heal bot that can hit if and only if he has to, so i do not consider myself a battle clr. and i took a low cha b/c i dont feel the need to try and turn undead b/c of how useless i've heard it is. So then DV's are also a negative for me. I wand heal Half and SP heal half so i can be a more offensive caster.
The question is would adding a lev of wiz or sorc at this point be worth it,, the main reason im considering it is b/c i would be able to use most wands in the game and i hope to get a few more spell points from it. here are a my stats so far:
Lev 7 Human Clr 28pt build
Lawful Good
HP-106
SP-506....wiz I item
Str - 17....+3 item
Dex - 11
Con - 17....+3 item
Int - 8
Wis - 22...+2 item and 1 enhancement spent
Cha - 8
I might have used a +1 tome in there, would have to check bio for that.
AC- 24...+5 RRhuman FP
Saves:
Fort - +9
Reflex - +6
Will - +12
Feats:
Mental toughness
Toughness
Spell Penetration
Empower Healing
Let me know your thoughts, im 2 ranks from 8 at this point.

Both your Intelligence and Charisma are really low, and personally I don't find all that many arcane spells (especially on wands) that I'd be willing to sacrifice a level of Cleric for. As far as spell points, You might get a few more if you took a level of Sorcerer, but I think you'd get less if you took a level of Wizard. Personally, I'd just stick with Cleric.

as far as SP's go. im i on the right track.. maby i just expect more than i should but 506 at lev 7, isnt that low? and what would i expect my ending lev 14 sp to be...ive just seen wiz and sorc's out there with between 1400 and 1900 sp,,,can i even get close to that?

No, don't multiclass.

so if i stay all clr, do these stats work for the style im trying to play. healer/combat caster, with enough HP to stay alive in tough situations,,, what else should i look to add as i level up to maximize this type of game play,,,or should i scrap it and start over?

I've got a Human Cleric at level 14 with a 32 Wisdom and a Magi item. I'm sitting at around 1290 and I don't have the last SP enhancement. I've found it to be enough to run through most quests without a problem on Elite. 506 SP doesn't sound that bad at level 7, though you may be a little low from your item. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The Sorcerer will always blow your SP total away, so don't even compare yourself with them, and Wizards should end up about the same place unless they get +3 tomes and are Drow with a Wizardry 6 item. You can basically expect to have around 1300 SP.
<EDIT> Your ability scores look somewhat close to my own, so you should end up with around 200 HP, which will be enough to survive most situations unless you specifically set out to get aggro on yourself. I'm mostly a healing Cleric, though I do like some of the higher level combat spells and cast those a good amount as well. I think you should be fine with how your character is set up right now. Just worry about maxing out your healing abilities and that will allow you to conserve SP on healing, giving you more SP to play around with for combat spells.

506 is about right with only a Wiz I item.
Hennako has 1194 at 14 with a Magi Item equiped. Her WIS is only about a 26 IIRC, but she has higher Combat stats (like a 16 base STR) and better CHA for DV's, DH's, DL's etc.
While having more SP would be nice, I generally find that with good play I have enough. Remember to take the SP related enhancements as you go up as well. Gains in SP is not just a multiple of your level, but since your Stat Boosts and Base Stats tend to increase as well you get increases from a number of spots at the same time.
Finding a usable Power VIII item at level 8 would give you a 55 point boost right away. (Or the old standby Crimson Gemstone from Tangleroot - a Wiz II item/trinket.)
Also I would suggest staying pure cleric. The extra spell slots at high levels are very useful for putting more types of spells at your disposal. I find that flexibility outweighs the few extra spell points you might get. Also with low CHA and INT scores, you will not be getting super boosts from Sorc or Wiz anyway.

My level 14 Human Clerics have 1090sp/1168 (30 wis, 32 wis) --- I found this to be quite enough and I run Gianthold Elite including Elite Scale Runs, and Raid all the time.
Level 7 spells rock, and if you take one level of anything else, you will only be able to carry 3 of them, 2 of your choice. Symbol of Stunning and Destruction are my faves.
I spend most of my SP on offensive spells--and sure sometimes I wish I had more so that maybe I could keep up with a sorcerer in kills, but it is not really *needed* to make it through the quest--both clerics are necro focused and also carry Enchantment and Abjuration Focus for the time being.

thats another thing,,i've been playing fighters since beta. so even though i have funding im having to collect all my clr stuff from scratch and the AH.
as far as armor, would it be better to use +5 or fearsome till i hit the blue level?
and i guess i'll just max out my wis to the extent that i can and get app the SP enhancements

Hey Fattiest, I'm getting in on this thread late so I'll answer your recent question and pretty much follow up with what the others have said.
Regarding armor, the best choices are either Fearsome or Adamantine IMO. Addy is nice against undead since they are immune to the Fearsome effect. Spiders are immune to fear, also, and I'm sure there are some other things. Fearsome is nice to wear against all stuff that can be feared, especially the hard hitting trolls and ogres. Not sure what you mean by "the blue level" unless you're talking about blue dragon scale armor?
Don't multiclass. People who splash a level of sorc have a high-ish CHA to start, thus giving them a nice boost at the cost of a cleric level. Since you won't get that benefit, don't bother with it. Ditto to the wizard level.
Your SP total looks on target. Keep taking the SP enhancements. Maybe look to take Improved Mental Toughness at level 9 to get a further SP boost. A level 14 human cleric with 32 WIS, magi item, MT and IMT feats, and the max EotZ enhancement line will hit 1293 SP. If you were looking for a target amount, there it is. Obviously a Wizardry V, VI, or VII item makes this target higher.
