I was hoping for to find some good builds to look and and learn about barbs, not a lot of luck. Lots of good discussion on the aspects of barbs, but not how it all fits together.

Things I think I have learned so far:
1. rage is king. Get as much as you can.
2. hp and to-hit come from rage boosted stats. Means that toughness is not as important.

So, I decided to play with the char gen a bit. I went dwarf and all rage enhancers except extend 4. Crit II because everyone said it rocks. Four points of CON. A touch of toughness (mostly for pre-reqs) and armor mastery 2.

Put the dwarf in +5mfp and a daggerstooth belt = +3mfp+2armor master+2daggerstooth dex bonus for 7 total. I think that makes the AC 10base+13armor+7dex=30 before any other buffs. I'm not sure if this is a good direction to go or not.

I'm kinda at a loss for feats. I put in the 2h series for now.

I guess I'm hoping for high DPS, but not a total slouch for AC in case i'm not blurred/displaced etc. Let me know what is good and bad and why on both please.

Mobs in Gianthold have a 30 or better to-hit score. So an AC of 30 is just going to mean that they "almost misssed" you, before they hit you. And, that is at a minimum. Run them elite, and the mobs are up into the +40 or +45 to-hit.

Unless you think you have the gear to maintain better than a 40 AC, I wouldn't bother. And even a 40 AC means that only the weakest mobs are going to miss you if you're running elite.

Hardy rage is an iffy enhancement. 14 Hitpoints and 6 seconds of rage may not be worth it. I would maybe be tempted to swap it for DR boost or something.

The Maldini Build (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=115850) is a pretty standard Barbarian build.

Bonni and Klyde (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=116564) are a slight variation, going for single-target max damage rather than 2-Handed fighting glancing blows

TWF Kopesh Build (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=117379) is an example of the 2-Weapon fighting barbarian rather than a 2-Handed fighting build.

The concept of a barbarian is very simple. High strength, high CON.

Id take points outta DEX and put em into INT and WIS. INT cause I like enhancement points, yes, yes I do. Jump, tumble, swim, listen...and with MOD 5's changes to how we see mobs, listen will be worth a ton more. And WIS for saves. Although at high levels we have awesome saves when raged, its always nice to have more. At least put WIS to 10 to stop the negative.

Its real easy to build a barb, harder to play one good.

If you want to deal damage with a two-handed weapon, forget AC and dex. It's that simple.
I have a good AC barbarian, but I purposedly sacrificed offense for defense.

Dex is to high, forget about amour mastery on the belt get mith fp and a +6 con item should max your bonus with a base of 10 dex. You don't need toughness, you will have close to 400 hp without it while raged but you need improved crit, any barb without improved crit and crit rage 2 is gimped, this is what puts us above most fighters in damage output.

I would put str to 18 con to 18 dex to 10 then if you have 32 point raise wisdom.

No toughness lol!! I like toughness on any toon but thats just me . 400 hp for my barb is not enough so he has 549:) 44 str oh and a 13 ac but he kills with the best.

Some people like toughness, but I wouldn't give up damage for more hp. If your taking toughness feats should be cleave greatcleave toughness power attack and improved crit. Two handed fighting is nice but if you cant take all 3 i would go cleave instead.
