1 - Depends on how much you play and what you want. Grind isn't to bad unless your desperate to be the best.
2 - Can unluck Drow pretty early without much effort. Later on you can unlock 32 point builds which are the same races just with a few more points to spend on the attributes. Half elves and half orcs are coming but we re not sure if they will have to be unlocked yet but doubtful.
3 - I would suggest going fighter first then rogue just to get the experience at managing agro. Rogues can pull agro quick with backstab and if yournot careful, a quick way to end up dead.
4 - Dunno, never done it

If you decide to run on the Argo server send me a PM and I will run some low level quests with you to help you get the hang of things.

3. Read the fighter and rogue forums. You'll find tons of tips and build ideas. Building an ok fighter is easier than a rogue, so I'd suggest fighter first.
4. PvP is pretty weak right now. Can be fun to kill time, but although there are some fans, it really lacks depth at the moment. I think mod 5 is adding a few improvements though
8. DDO has a built-in chat system.

1. The "grind" for a single character is MUCH better than most MMOs. The seriousness of the grind comes when you start making many of the alts the game has to offer with experimenting with different builds.

2. Getting drow unlocked isn't too bad. Only takes 400 Favor, gathered through finishing quests. Elite run giving the most favor for a quest. Getting the 32-point builds is a bit harder. 1750 Favor required, but allows you to spend 32 points at character creation instead of 28. Except for Drow, which is like a 32-point build to begin with with thier natural extra #s. I would suggest you make a Dwarf or Warforge melee type character to begin, unlock drow. Then make a drow rogue to be your main and work up to 1750 favor for 32-point builds.

1. hows the grind ? i played lineage 2 since beta and ugh....no more 4 me! - Meh, personally I think the grind is minimal. By grind Im talking collect 20 elf hairs, collect 20 hafling hairs etc. We dont have much of that nonsense here. The only time I can think where you may grind is Gianthold, for relics...but thats really not the same as those others. Heck, you can even buy the relics off the AH.
2. i read something about unlocking other races cool! how many are there ? - At the moment there is only one unlockable race, Drow Elf. We should soon see half-orcs and maybe more.
3. im going Rogue my first char then i think fighter for my second any tips/builds that are decent ? - Check out each forum for these classes, plenty of awesome builders on these forums. Take your time and research...and have fun.
4. pvp how is it in this and is it worth my time even thinking about pvp untill im lvl 1 billion. - No. PvP is more a time-waster than anything else. What I mean is if you are waiting on a guildie getting back or a group to form then PvP can be a nice distraction. It only takes place in cerain inn's around Stormreach, no looting dead bodies. Its like a lil workout if you have nothing to do. But it is alotta fun and very addictive.
5.i like cheese... not really a question but i think i have A.D.D so meh - Talk to a forum poster called In Like Flynn....cheese crazy.
6. all posts i have read the comunity seems nice ... is this true ? - No. We have some flaming tarballs here at the forums, and some ******bags ingame, but the majority of us are top-class people.
7. i think thats all for now... im going crazy looking at the update bar - It does take a long time...silly download.
8. i have a vent server that i never use anymore so i hope this game makes me actually use it :D - Dont think you need Ventrillo unless you wanna talk to guildies, we have our own partychat.

well thanks ladies n gents

Most importantly, have fun.

nice thanks guys, whats the best server in ddo... i know in every mmo there is one thats slightly better more people better prices on selling stuff ect...

There was recently a server merge, so populations are good on all 5 servers. I believe Argonessen currently still has the largest population, but all servers have strong numbers of people.

As to prices and such, I have no experience with other servers than my own, Khyber, but I'd venture to say that they'll be relatively consistent with each other.

Every person who posts on these forums believes their own server is the best. Any of them is an excellent choice.

Umm that doesn't really flow as much anymore.. the game had a server merge to increase populations.. so most of the servers here used to be 3 that are now 1. I think pretty much all servers are about equal.. each one has their power guilds and casual gamer guilds. Thelanis would probably have the most RP'ers, but I doubt by your tone you are into that... mind you Thelanis also got merged with, the self titled "we are best" server, Xoriat.

As for economy, things can get pretty pricey. None of my characters are super rich and I really don't use the Auction House that much. I prefer to basically loot all I have. You'll get better things looting eventually anyway then just buying it.

Half-elves have been asked for, but never announced. The only race that has been announced are half orcs.

Not true they did talk about Half-elves and half-orc in The state of the game address here.

Half-Orc & Half-Elf Race – Were you hoping for a little more diversity in playable races, and perhaps a tusk or two? Keep an eye out towards the end of the year.

the only thing that i dunn really get is like every time i went to chat in gen chat it said couldnt chat in this area i dont know if it was an issue with the server argonn or if i really just couldnt talk in that area...
There is a known minor bug that may cause a "unable to enter chat" error message upon logging in, but now it should try again a second later and say "entering chat channel", letting you chat.
It can happen at times that the chat channels bug out, but it's been extremely rare since launch.

"5.i like cheese... not really a question but i think i have A.D.D so meh"

I like cheese too!!! Oh and chicken pot pie!

"6. all posts i have read the comunity seems nice ... is this true ?"
Yes. Well, mostly. I have heard some complaints, but I have almost never had a bad PUG. ( as far as attitudes, not abilities! )

"8. i have a vent server that i never use anymore so i hope this game makes me actually use it :D"

Some guilds may still make use of it, but not necessary in PUGs or routine use.

I like both PUGging and guilded runs. You can PUG any old time, and sometimes when you just want to know that someone will be there that you can count on, being a guild member is invaluable. Check one out.

wow lvl 2 now.... when do i get the dual flaming swords of death...+2 lol.... still am liking it i just need to group up now on account of i dont think i have been in one ever yet... meh

You should definitely group up. Look under the LFM (looking for more) page on the social panel for any group looking for a fighter your level. Send a join request (its a clickable button at the bottom of the page) and they will likely pick you up. Some times the LFMs take a while to match your characters, just check back every few minutes and something will open up. Don't be shy because someone else will take that slot. Once in group, make sure you let them know that you are new to the game and most groups will take the time to explain things to you. The best thing you can do is ask for help on how to play better, actually request constructive criticism, as that will only help you in the future.
Good luck man and enjoy the game.

1. hows the grind ? i played lineage 2 since beta and ugh....no more 4 me!
You have my condolences. I beta tested Lineage 2. It is by far, the worse grind game I have ever played. And not, the grind isn't that bad.
2. i read something about unlocking other races cool! how many are there ?
Currently, 1, which is the Drow. I expect that, eventually, we may have more.
3. im going Rouge my first char then i think fighter for my second any tips/builds that are decent ?
Rogues are by far my most favorite class to play. In terms of Rogue, most are finesse (IE..Dex based)

4. pvp how is it in this and is it worth my time even thinking about pvp untill im lvl 1 billion.
PvP sucks in this game, compared to others. Hard hitters and properly spec'd sorcerers pwn.

5.i like cheese... not really a question but i think i have A.D.D so meh
I prefer pepperjack

6. all posts i have read the comunity seems nice ... is this true ?
Nah, we just want to lure you into a false sense of security before we drop the,"we hate you" post.

7. i think thats all for now... im going crazy looking at the update bar
Looking at the update bar is like watching the clock, it makes it go much slower :D

8. i have a vent server that i never use anymore so i hope this game makes me actually use it :D
I use teamspeak myself for all my MMOs. Makes it easier to keep tabs on my friends, and when they log in.

well thanks ladies n gents

See above, my comments in red.

Sad though, I hate red with a passion, and look what color I always use

Yes, starting at level 2. Just watch the (- xxx) number in your XP total on the XP bar at the bottom of the screen.
