I normally do not ask or need advice on charachter development as i pretty much have it down pat now:)
However I have recently come upon another couple of wizards in PvP that are able to boost thier scorching rays to at least 300 points of damage with a single ray (900 +) total while mine only crit for 234 points max (round 700 total)and im wondering how its done....
Please note that I do not care to hear how much damage your caster could possibly do i want DETAILS on how you do it,Nor do i wish to hear opinions on how scorching ray is broken this is a specific question asked to the BIG DOG casters.
Lemme shortlist what i use for enhancing my spells and please tell me what im missing:) ....(prolly a raid item)
lvl 14 wizard
+1 superior potency 6 scepter
Full fire specialization and crit Enhancements
Highest crit modifier available(Superior fire lore scepter in other hand)
Maximize Heighten Empower etc.....
Black scale robes
Any truthful help would be much appreciated:)

Try swapping out your fire lore scepter for a superior combustion item. You'll crit less ofte (9% I think) but you'll be doing an extra 50% dmg on every shot. That should get you over (or close to) your 300pt mark.

No.
All you can do is maximize+empower, with +40% elemental enhancement, a superior combustion/potency item, the two lines of critical enhancements for elemental spells, and a superior fire lore item. I don't see what else could be added to that.

Total maximum damage from a single critted ray was 278 and my fireball hit for 658 max. How are these guys getting 1000 plus from thier fire spells lol?
Does stats have anything to do with the damage i do?

278 sounds correct for scorching ray with max and empower.
1000+ means they're attacking fire vulnerable creatures -- ice mephits or zombies, for instance.
Tihocan's list is complete.

Does stats have anything to do with the damage i do?Here we go:
(Base) * [1 (base) + .4 (Elemental ManipulationIV) + .5 (SupPotency)] * [1 (base) + .5 (Empower) + 1 (Maximize)] * [1.5 (base spell crit) + .75 (Deadly ElementsIII) + .5 (SupFireLore)] = Base * 13.0625
If the creature is vulnerable to Fire, it's another *2 for 26.125x Base damage.
Scorching Ray is 1d8+16 per ray and each ray is a separate spell crit chance roll. Against a Mummy (vulnerable to Fire) each ray has the potential to do 444-627 damage. And a theoretical maximum if all 3 crit, (which I have never seen happen) of 1881 damage.
Fireball is 10d3+30 base damage with only 1 crit chance, but chances for the target to save. Against a Mummy (vulnerable to Fire) it has the potential to do 1045-1567 damage (half that, 522-783 with a successful reflex save).

Fire ball does 10d6 mad probablly a typo on your part :), but yes the over 1000 hit are on creatures like Ice flensers, and fire mephits. I've only had my sr hit for over 300 4 times just a good dice rolls. I good place to try and get you an 1000 point hit is sorrowdusk Isle with a superior ice lore septer and run to the right and hit the hell hounds max'd and empowered and repeat till you crit. :) As far as I see you have the right equipment (wish I could find a superior potancy 6 item :( ). Now you just need to hit the right guys with it. My first +1000 point hit was on an ice flencer with a fireball for 1,226 at level 10.

Fire ball does 10d6. mad probablly a typo on your part :)In PnP, yes. In DDO, no. DDO uses modified damage dice for spells.

I think you have all the numbers right on your scorching ray maximums, maybe you were debuffed in some way?
As for the damage dice, yes, they are not PnP.
CLW = 4+1d4, Fireball 1d3+3 per level... almost all damage spells with dice rolls are modified for DDO to do from average to maximum of PnP, never below.
