Hi all
Recently i have been playing occasionally on another server to help promote my guild and start pushing it to become a good guild all over ddo, anyway i want to share a few of my experiences.
Day 1.
Rolled my new character, and decided to try something new for once, a halfling ranger/fighter, something built to both shoot and fight (but mainly shoot), had great time noticed there was an all aussie guild to my delight however they were all on higher lvl chars, but said once i got higher they are always on during aussie prime time and would be glad to party with me.
So i began the day soloing goodblades/lowroad, went through normal/hard as i usually do, and feeling rather gutsy decided to try soloing it elite.
a short while later i emerged delighted that i could finish those quests without recalling/twinked out gear and still be on level 1.
Day 2.
Logged on and straight away got invited to a group doing harbour stuff to elite, there were a couple of level 2's in the party so i went and leveled my halfling so that i could be more useful to the party.
This group was loads of fun, did a bunch of harbour quests and got alot of experience, fun/great people all chatting and joking around, they found it interesting i was from another server and offered me a fair bit of items to help get me off the ground (which i declined), it seemed that my fresh start on a new server was turning out good.
unfortunately our cleric had to go but our rogue (who was alot of fun and helpful) quickly found a bard who joined the group, now our party was very focused on just having fun from the start, we went through got all optionals/conquest and made sure we didn't miss any chests, however once the bard joins we start our elite run in sewer rescue, 5 minutes in we just finish killing the spider and our bard dies, curiously we look around for whats happened and find he has ran off ahead we find him and he begins grumbling so we take him to the shrine and res him.
anyway we then start to climb up the ladder to kill that arcane, this is where the bard starts to complain about how noobey we are, how getting conquest ect is pointless because it gets you only 100 more exp, anyway the rogue steps up and politely explains that i'm from a different server so we were trying to get as much loot as possible to help me out, the bard starts to get more annoyed but instead climbs over to me and opens trade window and puts 10k plat into it, i politely refuse and explain i would like to earn my loot from the start, quest finishes and bard immediatly drops.
2 mins later i start getting pm's from him as he abused me for the next 15 minutes (i never squelch anyone), group continues and i hit level 3 and have now made freinds with the rogue who put me on her freinds list and is helping me out whenever she is online.
Day 3.
Log on, and find one of my guildies from thelanis is on their interserver char, straight away we join a party who are doing harbour/marketplace elite quests, once again meet some great people, have some fun doing redfang/kobolds new ring leader, eventually we lose 2 people and notice in lfm a fighter who wants to do irestone inlet, so all 4 of us join his group and we soon find ourselves a cleric, we enter irestone inlet.
2 of us are ranged based fighters, 1 wizard, melee fighters, and a cleric, start off fine however after a short period of time i notice the cleric has dissappeared and fallen behind running back i notice he is caught in one of the respawning patrols running around swinging his mace and jumping all over the place, i jump in to help out and do what i can, mid-fight the cleric somehow dc's while moving and i finish up quite easily, unsurprisingly he doesn't come back, while this was happening the other 4 had moved forward and 3/4 die, i run forward kite/shoot the enemies and grab the stones taking them back to the shrine, at this point one of the paladins releases and drops group, minorly annoyed we continue with what we have and finish irestone inlet with the remaining 4 people.
What i have learnt so far:
1.this server has some great people, and some terribly rude people
2.starting from scratch is surprisingly fun
3.2 halflings can scare a pair of warforged barbarians (great fun that one as the wf challange dus to pvp (myself and a halfling cleric, we were all lvl 2))
4.scorching ray hurts (relearning this)
5.Furor hurts
