Hi, I'm wondering what the best class would be to play to be able to get groups easily. I understand this game has a bit of a population problem.

i dont agree with the game having TOO much of a population problem since the server merge, but i suppose most people will tell you cleric is the easiest class to find a group with

Make a cleric and people will flood you with invitations. It will also give you a chance to hang back in the background and watch how people play their respective classes, builds, etc.

As stated above the cleric class will always get you invites.....

Conversley the Ranger class will rarely get you an invite.

...Create your own group!!!!!!!
Create opportunities for you and others. People will COME TO YOU FAST no matter what class you are because people are looking for groups to join all the time (obviously you are since you're waiting for invites;) ). Dont wait alone but gather adventurers of stormreach in minutes!

You get to be somewhat selective of the composition and type of players you want to get also by posting it in comments.

Try it, this game needs more people taking leadership...like you i'm sure.

It will also vary with the level of the characters to some degree.

At low levels: Clerics are always being sought out, with any class that can heal somewhat being asked as well. Sometimes rogues too, since characters at this range have more trouble ignoring or fixing damage from traps.

At mid levels: Clerics still sought out, and Arcanes and Bards asked as well since they start to get more effective Crowd Control and Buffs.

At High levels: It is often Arcanes that are the most sought out, with Clerics close behind. MAny characters at this level have UMD skills and can use scrolls and whatnot to emulate cleric healing to some degree if needed.

At all levels, fighters are needed in most groups to actually you know, fight the mobs, BUT, there tend to be plenty to choose from so the free agent pickings are often slim. You will see tons of groups that already have 2 or 3 melee types looking to add in the casters and clerics. As a caster or cleric you often get to choose more options about which group or quest to join.

If I am not anomymous, My Clerics (14, 3, X/1) and Bard (14, 2) get invited all the time. My Paladin (13) with get some. My ranger, rogue and fighter get very few if any blind invites.

I'd mirror the other comments above, cleric is probably the best for getting groups at the lower levels, with Arcanes being more sought after at the high levels.

I'd also point out that the game doesn't have a population problem when it comes to getting groups--often times the reason it is so hard to get a group is that too many people sit around waiting for invites, and not enough take the leadership to actually create a party.

Have fun with your gaming experience!

P.S. Another great way to consistently get into good groups is to join a good guild.

True clerics are the most searched for (cept for +1 loot weekends, where EVERY LFM was for a wiz/sorc hehe. Caster end rewards are just THAT bad).

However if you play poorly, cleric is the class most likely to get you verbally abused. And by poorly I mean "don't keep the zerging warforged barbarian at 100% health at all times"

For a newish player, a good warrior build is a nice way to start, and its easier to find groups than a rogue or ranger.

I'd agree with the above posters. People have problems getting into parties because they aren't proactive. Join a guild, or make your own groups.

Yep, they're all right. A cleric always get invites and at mid to higher levels Arcane are right there with them. But like already said, just start your own group. Even if you don't happen to know a particular quest, you could add something in your comments like "need a guide". You'll be surprised how many people are willing to help and don't mind guideing you through a quest.

I was a little hesitant at first to post a LFM when I first started but now If I know what I want to do that'll be one of the first things I do when logging in.

Good luck,
