1 at L1, and 1 more every 3 lvls (1 at L3, L6, L9 n L12) for a total of 5 feats. 1 more if human

edit: checked with manual

Each Character gets one feat upon creation. At 3rd level, and every 3 levels after that (6th, 9th...) he or she gains another feat. The only additional feats are gained:

* by Humans who get one additional feat upon creation,
* by Fighters who get a bonus feat at 1st and 2nd level and every 2 subsequent levels of fighter, but must choose from a more limited list of combat-oriented feats,
* by Wizards who get to choose a bonus metamagic feat at wizard levels 1, 5 and 10.

Free Active Feats are provided to any character that meets the requirements, and represent things most people can try (but not necessarily with much success).

Note also that some classes automatically gain free class feats based on their class level: check each class' page for more details on those.

Hopes this answers all your questions.

Fighters get bonus feats 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th
Fighter bonus feats are: Combat Expertise, Dodge, exotic weapon proficiency, mobility, spring attack, Improved shield bash, Improved Sunder, Point Blank Shot, Percise Shot, Rapid Shot, Many Shot, Precise Shot, Precision, Shot on the Run, Improved Precise Shot, Power Attack, Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Sunder, Improved Trip, Whirlwind Attack, Quick Draw, Rapid Reload, two weapon fighting, two weapon defence, improved two weapon defence, greater two weapon defence, weapon finesse, weapon focus, weapon specialization, greater weapon focus, greater weapon specialization, resilience, sap, slicing blow, stunning blow, two handed fighting, improved two handed fighting, greater two handed fighting

Wizard class feats: Empower, Enlarge, Eschew Materials, Extend, Heighten, Maximize, Quicken, some have prerequisites also

As stated above humans get a bonus feat at 1st level

thank you all very much, it's all good stuff! ok ,now all this info brings up another intresting question for me...now fighters get bonus feats at even lvls as stated in all posts (bonus feats!) ,now the question is does that mean they get the normal feat selection every third lvl as well? i wouldnt figure they would because of the class specific gear design or whatever ,but this would be so awsome and i wouldnt see why there aren't more fighters in the game lol, like all fighters :) thnx again for all the helpfull info people !!!!

Yes, fighters will get the normal feat selection at every 3rd level. So, a 14th level human fighter would progress like this:

Level 1 - 3 feats (1 human, 1 fighter, 1 character)
Level 2 - 1 feat (fighter)
Level 3 - 1 feat (character)
Level 4 - 1 feat (fighter)
Level 5 - no feat here
Level 6 - 2 feats (1 fighter, 1 character)
Level 7 - no feat here
Level 8 - 1 feat (fighter)
Level 9 - 1 feat (character)
Level 10 - 1 feat (fighter)
Level 11 - no feat here
Level 12 - 2 feats (1 fighter, 1 character)
Level 13 - no feat here
Level 14 - 1 feat (fighter)
---------
14 total feats

Looking ahead to level 20, he would progress thusly:

Level 15 - 1 feat (character)
Level 16 - 1 feat (fighter)
Level 17 - no feat here
Level 18 - 2 feats (1 fighter, 1 character)
Level 19 - no feat here
Level 20 - 1 feat (fighter)

Just remember that the fighters bonus feat is selected from a limited list of combat feats. You can only use those feats to make yourself fight better, and all the other classes get granted feats that let them do things that other classes can't do. Which is why the game is not dominated by fighters, and instead you see an even mix.
