How will the ranger be in the future??

1. Will manyshot be active all the time with or without a reduced attacke bonus pen.

2. As im sure some rangers have experienced before not being able to get in a group becasue they are a ranger change in someway by getting an amazing spell only high level rangers get or some really new feat

3. will be every be aloud to see the bow strings...hahaha

What are your thoughts on this???

1. No, the penalty will remain. The cooldown timer may change, but that's up to the developers. I think it will stay the same, no changes. If they wanted to make it more like D&D, it becomes a feat available to all and would not have any cooldown.

2. Honestly, rangers are really more of a splash class or a roleplaying class if you're into min/maxing. Beyond level 11 when youget combat mastery, the only cool class ability you get is HIPS (hiding in plain sight) at level 17.

3. You'll need a lot of graphical horsepower to see a string vibrate.

Honestly, the ranger class pretty much tops out at level 12 for the power gamer. Beyond that you get a few more spells, extended durations, a couple more favored enemies and your 6+int skill points. This is the reason D&D branched out with prestige classes. There are a lot of different prestige classes that rangers can get because of the number of skill points they get.

In my opinion, ManyShot should be changed to a stance similar to Power Attack. There should also be a penalty to hit considering the difficulty of notching multiple arrows. I also think that once you are able to shoot multiple arrows (2 at lvl 6, 3 at lvl 12? and 4 at lvl ?) you should be able to toggle the amount of arrows you wish to fire (which will affect your penalty to hit - the more arrows, the greater the penalty.

A high level Ranger brings a lot of versatility to the table. +5 Barkskin, Freedom of Movement and 10-sp cost 30-pt Resists along with the ability to wand whip Cure Serious, not to mention favored enemy bonuses. When played correctly, a Ranger can be a deadly adversary.

While this may be flavor, it doesn't bother me that I can't see the bow string.

I build all of my characters with a well rounded approach. I don't like to min/max them. I haven't had a problem yet with this strategy.

ManyShot is a feat available to anyone, as long as they meet the prereqs. I agree it shouldn't have a cool down. See my above post for what I think about what ManyShot should be.
