My gaming group is currently having a 2nd edition campaign, using the Skills & Powers rules. I play a ranger, with the disadvantage of a severe phobia of undead. One thing I've noticed about my fellow players is that in combat, they're all a bit preoccupied with their next attack.
During our game last night, we were making our way through a dungeon. Upon opening one door, we discovered a pack of zombies. Whilst the rest of the party charged forward, I passed a note to the DM: 'I'm retreating. Let's see how long it takes them to notice.'
The DM moved my figurine back, they didn't notice. Round after round passed without me rolling for initiative, and they didn't notice. At the end, they emerged victorious, with no casualties. I gave another note to the DM, telling him I was slipping back into the group. The rest of the game passed, and they were none the wiser.
Ah, if only I were playing a thief! :)
