Vandos

A friend asked me to give him the build for my halfling 2 handed fighter Gando so I'm posting it here for him along with my thoughts on the build and why I went for what I did and perhaps get some advice on the build at later levels, I'm currently at level 9 with it and having a ball. Maybe someone else will want to try it too.
I like greataxes and dealing lots of damage, I also like to solo early levels and for favor so the build had to have the following.
1. High dps.
2. Lots of HP.
3. A decent AC.
4. Good saves.
5. The ability to use wands.
So heres the build (28 point).

So going by the order of the things the build had to have above,
1. High DPS - at level 9 with a +5 greataxe + do 1d12+23 and 10-13 on glancing blows. The two handed fighting feats are a must I feel if you are going the dps route, they just rip through a mob of creatures. With ending 28 str and greater 2 handed fighting this will be 1d12+28 and around 20 on glancing blows on first and fourth attack.
2. With the 5 toughness feats a +6 con item, greater false life item and the dragon vitality you can hit 400hp, but most likely you will be running around with a +4 con item and no false life for a long time giving you a respectable 346hp.
3. With a +5 dex item (not too hard to get) you can hit a dex of 22 allowing the full benefit of armor mastery 3 and mithril full plate so ac breaks down as follows.
+5 full plate or +3 mithril fullplate will be what you wear in the hopes of pulling +4 or +5 mithril full plate, if you already have a suit then grats :) but for most of us this is what we will be running around in.
Base 10
Race 1
Pali Aura 2
+5 fp/+3 mfp allowing +4 or +6 dex bonus = 17
+3 deflection item - cloak or spec optics = 3
so thats a standing ac of 33/36 with a 6 minute barkskin pot, and 40 with a shield clickie for end fights, great ac for most content up to level 12.
with rarer items you can reach the following
Base 10
Race 1
+5 mfp 13
Dex 6
Protection item 5
chattering Ring 3 dodge
Chaosguard 2 dodge
pali aura 2
barkskin pot 3
haste pot 1
shield clickie 4
total = 50
Get a ranger with max barkskin and a paladin with maxed aura and you are into the mid 50's with a greataxe.
4. Saving throws, get a +4 chr item and a +3 resist item and your end saves are 22/20/13 fairly good will save but you also have fear immunity from 3 levels of pali.
5. Wands, with 3 pali levels you can use any cure wand, lesser restore wands, resist wand etc making it a really self sufficient build.
You also have 2 lay on hands for 39 hp each (level 9, with a +4 chr item) for a quick burst of healing during a fight.
Ending str will be 28 with a +5 item and +2 favor tome, with the halfling +1 to hit this is as good as a 30 str but with -1 to damage, could be 30 if you pull a +3 tome and a +6 item.
As I said earlier I am at level 9 with this build and having a ball with no uber equipment, just plain old +5 fp and a +5 axe, I dont get hit much and avoid most flamestrikes/aoe spells and love seeing all those numbers when standing in a doorway and lots of mobs in front of me.
