Open Lock I
Skillz: Max ranks in DD, UMD, Search, Spot, {edit: max OL}, Jump
Attack
+13 bab
+11 dexterity
+2 Elf
+3 Deneath Arrows
+29 total
(+4 shot on the run vs most other archers)
Damage non crit
3.5 base (1d6)
+3 Deneath Arrows
+ 6 Bow strength
+7 Holy (2d6) [from silver bow]
19.5 total non crit
damage critical
9.5 base (1d6x3) [yes, times 3 if silver bow]
+9 weapon (3x3)
+ 12 strength (6x2)
+7 Holy (2d6)
37.5 total average critical
rounding numbers for math and using silver bow, keen:
So 80% x 20 = 16 plus 20% critting 38 (7.6) = 23.6 x2 attacks = 47 average damage per round (during the multishot timer)
I want you to understand, though that this same build, if dual wielding two holy rapiers of pure good will be scoring over 200 per round average damage
Regarding Trap skills: you will be able to open any lock and disable any trap. Spot skills will suffer though. If you walk into a trap you will make your evasion so this is a mute point. When you take fighter rangers spend 2 points each into search and dd.
How to adapt to permadeath play: take fighter levels at 3 and 4 for early as possible sotr. Take wf at 6.
But I only have 28 points!: That will come at the expense of your con. A ranged support bot doesnt need con so much. You will be poisoned less and take less hits.
How not to play this build: run around in circles with the tanks running around in circles chasing the mobs that are chasing u. (this is higly amusing, because if they would just stand still the mobs would kit to them).
How to play sotr: learn to run backwards to the tanks, kiting the mobs to them. Do not take hits when using a bow. you are at -4 ac this is very bad. Instead take the sword and board out when melee is inevitable.
Regarding Max archer dps claim:
Now any ranged build out there that says: oh yeah! well going 2 ranger x fighter i can get this ... still cannot get the 200 plus damage dual wielding rapiers. So this is the max damage archer build in the game. [well the Retribution ranger is]
