View Full Version : Power attack requirement sucks

just my opinion but I think weapons focus + the other requirements are enough to qualify for warchanter status. having to take power attack becomes a significant sacrifice for dual wielding/ dex based combat bards.
It seems clear that the warchanter enhancement is really for MC'd bards to be able to keep pace with song bonuses but I think its shafty for the fightin' type dex bards w/o extra feats to toss away from taking lvls in fighter w/e. Never really considered MC'n my bard till now and still dont want to but it might be worth it even if i take a feat that never gets activated lol
mostly just venting but also interested to hear othe bards opinions on this. Thanks :)

Just remain regular bard. Going WC and taking a fighter level, you'll only gain +1 to damage over full bard.

Wait til the cap goes up. You'll get another feat at 15 to help you decide whether you wanna go WC or not. Until then stay full bard.

i took 1 lvl of barb and will never regret it the 2 rages last for over a minute each and at lvl 9 with a +4 str item i can get to 32 str fully buffed with a +1 weapon i have a 25 to hit with powerattack on quite good i think.

The real benefit is the extra speed. Although all bards can use ex retreat.

I disagree.

Power Attack just fuels the Warchanter even more. Your attack bonus from songs and the Weapon Focus feat more than pay for that Power Attack.

And when Human Versatility is modified i Mod 5, it will be even better as you'll get an attack boost option. Humans can also afford the feat.
