Class XP for Leveling Up - All the Same?

My game manual shows that all classes advance in levels at the same rate, per gained XP.

Is this the way the game works?

I've tried a ranger a bit and it looks like I need 5,000 XP for level 2. The manual shows an XP chart that says 10,000 XP for level 2.

What's up with that?

All classes are the same. They just lowered the XP requirement between printing the game manual and now in order to make it easier to level up at low levels. :)

You are reading an old manual. They have changed the XP levels since then.
