I'm getting parts to build a new PC and will be needing to install DDO on the PC (getting rid of the old PC).
Anybody have some step-by-step by instructions for the easiest way to do this? Trying to avoid installing from the original DVD and having to have updater run for two days to get up to the latest version.
Also, are they are any configuration files on my PC for the keymapping that I need to move or is that stored online with my account?
Thanks.

What I did was just copy all the files In the ddo folder when I did a clean install of Win xp from Vista and put them in on another harddrive or you can save them to disc.
then when you reinstall DDO on your new computer you can then replace the fresh un-updated files with the saved version of the files from your last computer. No need to download anything more.
But you do need to install a fresh copy first
Also the keymapping files are in your Document folder and Dungeons and Dragons Online folder

i believe you can download the latest trial version to streamline the patching process, not sure where to find it or if you can download it without obtaining a trial key, so maybe someone else can chime in on that
as far as the user preferences and keymapping it should all be in the dungeons and dragons online folder found in your "my documents" folder

Nope dont need to patch, He just has to save all the files from his last computer and replace the files after he installs DDO with original install disc.

yea youre right i forgot about that...just do the basic install then replace the dungeons and dragons folder in my documents, and replace the turbine folder in programs, and you'll be set, that's what i did when i installed a seperate version on another user account on the same pc
