Just wanted to take a quick min and say that, for what it's worth, I'm having a blast on the new merged server.

I'll be honest, I had my doubts about the merge at first, but seeing the group window so full, and just meeting new people in general has been a great time.

It's so easy to fill a group these days too. I was playing a low level alt, decided to lead a Tangelroot run, put up my LFM and It was full in 2 min. Then last night, 3 members of my guild, including myself, ran Faithful Departed on elite for favor, again, put up the LFM and 3 min the group was full.

I have found no lack of knowledge on this combined server. People are friendly, courteous, and openly share information.

Looking forward to many more awesome groups.

Thank you for the positive message! I'm very happy things are working out, I too have had an overall good experience with all the new personalities. Seems the infusion of gamers from all ends of the spectrum have truly made our home a melting pot of talent and interest.

I have to say that I too have been having a good time. There have been many groups and many good players, with one exception.

The cleric who had an empty group and did no want a barbarian because he hated healing them.... I guess you can't win em all.

But overall my experience has been very positive. Who knows, maybe one day I will even dance...maybe.

Nice! Yes I'm lookign forwad to tonight when I can play on my new server Ghalandra. Ithink for themost part the majority of DDO players are good folks. Willing to help, learn, teach, and have fun. Of course there are the rusty parts, but hey there are too many good folks out there to worry about thsoe.

Here's to the good folk out there playing DDO! :)

Don't tell my guildies but I think I am having just as much fun PUGing with all the "new" people! Sometimes it is tough to decide which character I want to play due to all the groups. I must have added a dozen people to my friends "those people I would group with in a heartbeat" list and have yet to have a bad experience.

Thanks all no matter what server you were originally on!

Well now that is a slap in the face. I play both a Cleric and a Barbarian so I know both sides to that story but as far as not allowing someone to join a group...bah! In the future do two things 1) carry a Cure Serious Wand and let him know it is his if he needs it and 2) carry 50 Cure Serious Pots and let him know you will heal yourself between battles. As I said I know both sides so he shouldn't have a *****! And if he does...find my group...barbarians are always welcome!!!!

BAH! What's with barb hate lately??? (and not the good kind of hate)
My main is a cleric - barbs are NOT hard to heal. At lvl 14 my heal does almost 400 pts - over 800 on a crit. It is no harder to heal a barb than anyone else. As a matter of opinion, they are easier because I can let their health bar go down a lot further before having to throw a heal at them which leaves me time to heal the other squishies.

I also run 2 barbs - sheesh! The whole point is to kill the mobs faster than they can dish out damage.

Once again - can't heal stupid.

I'm triage on two legs *grin* Mo was built pure healer and also has items that help out. I think her heal is actual 382 but will need to double check for the exact numbers. My ap's are spent in healing and healing crits. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a 2x4 *grin*

Hmm I bet he is using empower. Which I do not have.

I am specced for healing as well and can only hit for 275 or so per heal with max enhancements and superior devotion 6 items, no crits. I am curious as well how he is hitting that high a number. I just worked out the math and it does not seem possible even with a full enhancement line and superior devotion/potencey 6 item.

If he is not using empower I would really like to know how he is doing it so I can up my game.

Barbs are an odd class. They can't solo for ****, they really need a team to shine. In that respect they're similar to rogues. But, even worse, what makes a great 14th level barbarian doesn't always make a good 8th level barbarian.

I have to agree with Lizzy, if your cleric carries the Empower Healing feat, Barbarians are one of the best classes to have in a party.

There have been a couple threads on the cleric boards about empower healing feat and if it is worth it. And a couple threads on the main boards about the value of HP vs. AC. And, after all those threads, in general - a well built barbarian grouped with a good team is pure power. And, short of an endgame intimitank (60+ AC) I would take a barbarian over just about every other melee class.

Well Said!!!!

I'll have to compare notes with you on Healing for 400 hit points. **** that seems high, but then again I'm spec'd as a battle cleric.

If you're caying Empower Healing feat you should be doing a Heal for the mid 300's and crits in the low 800's, depending on your gear.

My build is probably very similar to Mo's since she rolled hers after Emeril's

Primary Stats:
STR: 16/Base+4/Item = 20 (Need a +6 and a tome)
DEX = 9/Base+3/Item = 12
CON = 9/Base+5/Item = 14
INT = 8/Base+6/Item = 14
WIS = 16/Base+3/Level+3/APs+2/Tome+6/Item = 30
CHR = 14/Base

Secondary Stats:
HP: 200
SP: 1201
Saves: 11/9/16
AC: 38 before buffs (Need the reaver shield)

Feats:
Empower Healing
Mental Toughness
Improved Mental Toughness
Extend Spell (May swap out for Spell Pen)
Improved Critical: Bludgeoning

Enhancements:
Cleric Wisdom II
Human Wisdom I
Improved Empower Healing II
Prayer of Life III
Prayer of Incredible Life II
Life Magic IV
Energy of the Zealot IV
Divine Vitality II
Extra Turning II
Wand Mastery III

I was not to concerned about the crit healing. I was more curious about the base healing. The crit multipliers stack quickly with the enhancement line and then the crown.

Bah, lies and slander!

I solo tons of stuff with Shin. The whole DQ prep (everything but the raid, though I'm getting closer and closer), usually end up waiting for people to join me in Pop runs after clearing all but the rooms, most of the Tor, Vons (had to find a +6 int item for 3), really pretty much anything that anyone else can solo a barb can, if you play them with a bit of thought (not common for barbs I know).

The problem I have when soloing with my barb is one good hold spell and I'm hosed. My saves are just not so fabulous. I also don't care to solo on them because as my only characters that can't self-heal (ie: spells or wands) popping all those csw pots makes me cranky. (which is silly since money in this game just isn't a problem). Now as far as pure damage and being able to clear a room, with you on that. Just think there are better classes made to solo.

Yeah Shin started with as much WIS as STR. It's funny to tell puggers that I can handle one whole side of the split in Von 5. I have a huge potion dependency. So bad that I use them instead of wands on most of my characters.

Here's my question Lizzy, how is her AC in the 40's (you did say 40's right or am I hallucinating again? LOL) I guess it would help if erda wore a dex/str item and didn't dual wield dev. and sup potency 7 items LOL... Although the concept of AC has always eluded me anyway. :eek:

10 Base
13 +5 Fullplate
01 DEX
07 +5 Sheild
04 Protection Item/Shield of Faith

There is 35 before you start adding anything fancy. Do a bunch of raiding an you can also add:
01 Black Dragonscale Armor
03 Chattering Ring
02 Tower Sheild (Preferably from Reaver Raid)

Getting you up to AC41

Some other misc. stuff you might have:
01 Dodge Feat
01 Haste Spell
03 Barkskin Potion
05 Ranger Barkskin Spell
03 Pally Aura
01 Weapon AC Insight Bonus - Can't remember what it's called, new weapon type

That would get you up to 47 reasonably often (haste/barkskin) with a max possible of 52

30 AC is the bare minimum to run Gianthold normal missions and get any benefit out of AC, and about 40AC for Gianthold elite.

38 ac (have to hide from pallys to do this) - she wears the dragon scale armor and has the shield from the stormreaver which gives her the tower shield proficiency without taking the feat.

I used to dual wield a wand and the invaders scepter but I just don't use wands all that much anymore and with the gloves from the reaver I don't use the scepter much unless I know I am going to be using a lot of cure mass spells.

So her ac breakdown (unbuffed) is:
10 base
1 dex (could go up to 3 if I had a better dex item)
14 armor
9 shield
3 deflection
1 dodge

Not too bad since with guild runs I am almost always with a pally and almost always have barkskin. And well, Mo is a lover not a fighter, so if she is getting hit, something has gone terribly wrong, lol!

*nods with sadness*

I was just simply lucky that no one in the group wanted them, at the time. Guess they had no idea how useful they really were.

On a side note: If you and I are ever running the dragon, you can believe that I won't roll on the SoS if it drops. My character simply wouldn't use it...it's the belt that I'm after to free up my finger for the Chattering Ring (neither the Dragon or the Titan have been kind to me on those points).
