I have a Greater Two-Handed spec'd 28-pt Fighter that is a blast to play. I'm hoping with this Gr. Two-Handed Fighting Bard with his Blur/Displacement/Warchant/Rage/Songs he will deal much more damage. If 1750 is acheived then +2 to str (for now it's left out of the build). Currently only planned for a +1 int tome at level 1 so you get 2 points with the fighter levels and can keep UMD maxed.

The difference between my 28-pt Fighter (12 fighter/1 pally/1ranger) and this build is 21 hitpoints.

Level 14 UMD is 21 unbuffed. The UMD will allow equipping various +6 stat items I have that are RR other than dwarf.

Greataxes are the weapon of choice and buffing other party members will be very limited. Saving mana for Displacement is a must.

UPDATE: Currently Level 8 (Bard 7/Fighter 1)
Decided to eat a Charisma tome (got a RR +4 chr cloak and the tome got me to my final score of 18 chr). Warchant is a great boost. Groups find it difficult to comprehend a Dwarf Bard. Let alone a Dwarf Bard that is Two-Handed Fighting build and wants to be a frontline fighter. Ran Stormcleave (on Hard) at Level 7 and I was the main healer and still managed to get (steal) 75% of the kills. Crits run in the low 110's. He has an 18 Chr now with 374 spell points and 115 hitpoints (haven't had a chance to take a toughness feat yet). For now I took Good Hope and Haste, since scrolls of Displacement are dirt cheap with a 25 haggle. Also, managed to snag a RR vorpal he can now use (currently has 1 point in Fighter: confirm criticals to help). The other thing to carry is Recitation scrolls, they are cheap and at lower levels clerics can't justify mem'ing it - plus they last 40 secs off the scroll, long enough to Axe down a mob of baddies.

If you could do it all again, I would have HIGHLY recommened WF, as in the update formerly called mod, WF gain enhc which effectively increase you glancing blow damage.

Changed the build a bit from this old post...

I went 12 bard / 4 fighter (so, slightly different than originally planned). Still managed to fit in greater two-handed.
He is at 396 hit points and 590 mana. 13 songs.
Fails a Heal scroll on a 3, I think. Majority of healing is from wands and scrolls.

16+??
2 more lvls of bard and maybe 2 lvls of rogue for evasion (maybe put some points in to open lock if I can).

It is a fun build.

I prefer dwarf. But yes WF would be effective as well.

That's quite a few levels of Fighter for not much gain. 1 Fighter/15 Bard is going to be way more beneficial to a party since you will have all the song buffs. You can use Divine Power clickies to compensate for the Lower BAB during critical points during an adventure.

He's capped and works great. Only thing I wish I could do is cast GH not scroll it. Other than that I like it as is.

PS: this is an old build from 2007

Since it only has 4 levels of fighter...I would end the build as 4 fighter/16 bard. That'll get you all the major bard goodies except for the last +1/+1 on inspire courage.

Right now my Warchanter is sitting at 14 Bard/2 Fighter. No, I don't have that last Bard song, but my songs are capped out... so I'm helping others in the group a lot with that, and honestly.. very, very few people ask for the AC song and none are upset when I say I don't have it.

Since I can't get the last Inspire Courage bump for being 20 Bard, the only thing I'd really get from going more Bard would be the AC song.. but with that new Kensai Fighter prestige class coming out, I'm going with that. At lvl 20 I'll buy it and I'll get +1 to hit, +2 to dmg & confirm crits, and a +4 to dmg before the crit... as well as glancing blows since I'm THF. I think having those things is a lot better than just the AC song.. and at 4 Fighter I'll get Weapon specialization, bonus right there.

Check out your options of having other prestige classes!
