Coming from Tharashk - I was merged with Thelanis. I noticed that I'm spending a very long time at all loading screens and very very laggy. I was able to play for about 3 or 4 hours tonight and it was a problem the entire time. Going to a separate instance of Marketplace 1 or 2; Harbor or even a quest instance with a 2-6 people didn't effected it. The others didn't mention it or is wasn't as bad for them.

There have been some places that have been experiencing poor network connections, can you post a tracert to gls.ddo.com?

Just to lend credence to Altumus's theory, I'm a Riedran playing on Khyber as of today (RIP Riedra) and I had no problems at all except for Khyber crashing a little before 9. It was down for about 10 minutes and then came back up and all was good.
Maybe Thelanis needs to crash so it can be all good for you guys? :)

I have been logging into Khyber off and on and it appears pretty laggy in the GiantHold area, probably due to the extra people
As requested here is my Trace

I'm reporting this from work. When I get home about 9am EST I'll see if the server coming down resolved the issue. If I'm still laggy with long load times, I'll post a traceroute. Sorry for delay in getting back to you.

The lag seems to have resolved itself, but I can wait 5 minutes on a screen loading page. Its not so bad if I'm in a party, but by myself, its bad.
For example, I was leaving the Wavecrest Tavern earlier today, the screen stayed on the loading page for 5 full minutes. It didn't clear until I did a ctrl/alt/del drop to my desktop then go back into DDO. Its very frustrating.:(

How much main memory does your computer have in it?
I have 1.5 GB, and I am loading zones in about 30 seconds. Getting into the game the first time took a couple minutes, but it's reasonable after that.

Well I have 2GB of memory and zoning was working snappy for me, however, I've been sitting on loading screen trying to recall from the desert for the last 6 minutes....but the rest of my party zoned out just fine...

Your loading speed in most cases, is determined by your comptuers hardware - so without knowing that its hard to say what to expect.

Yes, but in this case the blue bar never even started. Hardware was completely idle. Tracert doesn't work from behind my firewall so after the first hop i get nothing. It took 9 minutes to recall, once the blue bar started I was zoned within seconds.

If tracert doesn't work behind your firewall its a good bet thats whats causing your problem then.

Nope thats not the problem, tracert still doesn't work behind my firewall, never has, and the load times are sporadic -- sometimes great, sometimes hideously long.

I am experiencing the same problem, 2:36am CST

If your tracert does not work because your firewall stops it, then it really is a good bet that your firewall is what is causing your connection times for loading into the game to be slow... have you tried starting via a clean boot using msconfig to temporarily bypass the firewall and see if this allows you to load quicker? (just as a test of course) And what firewall program are you using.

The long load times continues to happen. It only began after the merger - no changes were done to my computer - so why would my hardware now be a problem???
I have to hit ctrl/alt/del - drop to desktop go back into the program then the loading screen is gone. The people I'm grouping with and others here are seeing the same problem. Again how can my hardware be causing an issue that is being seen by multiple people?
I'll try disabling my firewall then doing a traceroute - but I'm connecting to the game - again don't think that's the problem - but I'll post the traceroute. Going to do a Demon Queen raid tomorrow morning/early afternoon - hope we can resolve it before then
