I've been here since beta.

I have a big fat pile of characters on two accounts.

Some have some common-ish names.

Some have made up words or obscure words in latin for their names.

One, whom I rolled up during headstart to reserve the name has become my favorite, and main, character.

Guess what I did with that character about 9 months ago? I rerolled him because of the change they made to Mobile spellcasting.

Apparently rerolling puts you at the back of the line for character creation.

My MAIN and favorite character, who's name is an obscure latin word WAS THE ONLY ONE RENAMED by this ******** move.

I was all for the merge, it'll bring new life to the game.

Now I'm jsut kinda disgusted. Shrike, Evinco, Grayson, Gunnarr, even Kierion - lose their names? Nope. And it wouldnta been the end of the world.

Infernus? Oh, of COURSE there's a frigging Infernus on Thelanis who's older than 9 months and who's logged in in the last 30 days.

Fantastic.

The one thing about this merge that woulda shot my enthusiam in the ass.

It may jsut be a name to some people. Meant a bit more than that to me.

Blah.

Sorry to hear. I know I'd be upset if someone took the name Ghoste, a name I've also been using since beta but have rerolled many times. In fact I recently found out that someone on Xoriat is using that name. Imposter!!!

:( yeah... that's the hard part about using latin (or old english or elven names) is the 'good' ones are unfortunately prized by anyone with a background in it. There's a Varro over on Tharashk apparently...I've been afraid to log into my Varro today to see if he's suddenly 'Varro-Thelanis'

Out of this merger I managed to snag the correct spelling of Kilimanjaro and will be able to rename Killimanjaro minus one "L," so I'm rolling snake eyes on this merger.

Worst part is I cant change his last name. Infernus Doleo - loosely translated to Hellfire and Suffering.

Wonder what that latin word is for btching and whining. ;)

I tried to make a character a while back with a greek letter as its name. I tried about 16 of them and every last one was taken already. Latin and greek names are apparently quite popular.

I settled on Moo instead of Mu.

I only had one character get re-named and it was a joke character I made about 4 days before the merger. I'm feeling lucky!

I even got Awesome and Fala free and clear in the merge, which I kind of expected not to make it unscathed.

Sory to hear you got re-named though. It does rather suck and Infernus is a good name.
