i dont think it got lost. I think for some reason a lot of posts after a certain date were deleted or lost during the maintenance. I checked a couple forums, and they are still talking about stuff thats coming/just came out in mod4. cause if you noticed, most the posts in some forums are no newer than the end of march.

will not be able to join you guys this friday....but your right, we do need to pick a server to meet on. i dont care which one to be honest as long as we have one after the merge :P. we are doing an ebberon campaign setting with the 3.5 rule book. to be honest, we are not really strick about what kind of characters everyone runs. exquisite has some lady with fans...i have a stoner fighter whom im not playing with right now....tenkari is a warforged, symar has a charmleon...and fef is a little kid o.O not in real life though :) *Cheers* any ways, just pick whatever you want to play but i would reccomend on sitting in on a session and see how it is first.

Yeah. We've played some, but having issues retaining players / meeting on time.
We mostly type, but use voice chat some. Mostly for out of character comments and long descriptions. It's 3.5, Eberron, standard rules, 32 point buy, level 6 or 7 or so, standard wealth, etc. We're currently somewhere in the Eldeen Reaches, so an urban-oriented character might feel out of place. Oh, and it's Friday nights at 7 pm Eastern. Hopefully you feel like playing!

Oh, we play 2 or 3 hours, or whatever, whenever we feel tired, I guess. Sadly, our DM (Connavar) said he can't make it this Friday, but Fefnir sometimes fills in, and maybe a session can still occur.

And as to a server, we were on Xoriat, but may either move to Sarlona or stay on Thelanis. My personal preference is Sarlona, so I can retain all my Thelanis slots :p. But it's up to the group.

who says you cant use characters you actually play to show up at the session? Not like theres no reason for you to not do it :p we just made chars for it cause most of us dont play on xoriat, like me. Sarlona on the other hand, i dont really play on that often.

I agree with ya, and I've been there for most of them. I apologize for tonight- was totally planning on it but it didn't work out.
The way it's all been going, I hate to say it, but let's give up. Well, no, I don't hate to say it, because it hasn't ever worked out well enough. The few times we met were a blast. But it doesn't seem to want to work. I'd be more than happy to do this over on OpenRPG, where we can probably drag out some more dedicated players, although I don't know what my future schedule will be. Once I get it figured out, then, I'll be happy to do it over there. Heck, I'll even attempt to DM if need be.
I think it's officially time to give it up though. :(

heh yeah..... hmmm, perhaps i'd have to make a beguilder again... it was a rogue/mage type thing that specialized in illusions. heh that and a pally or a fighter/cleric should beable to duo well <.<

Yeah, beguiler's are pretty awesome. Or have 2 warforged- one an artificer/rogue and the other a duskblade. Lot's of possible combos.

upto con... though I lost the eberron book that i downloaded, so I dont remember none-of the artificer stuff..... all I remember is that if you roll high enough on your Disable DC and beat it by like... 5 or 10 i think, you can bypass the trap without sidabling it and not set it off.


also, if you got class limits, a beguilers the easiest way to get to be an arcane trickster if thats what your going for.

I think, if we were to duo, that going gestalt would be a good idea to up our power some. Then you could be a full rogue/wizard, or fighter/wizard, or whatever. Just no cleric/druid and it's all good. Heh.
And yeah, you're right about the Disable check, but Artificers are a non-arcane non-divine caster with a heavy focus on item creation and get UMD. They can even use UMD to make and use scrolls of spells not on their class list.

Anyway, it's up to Conn, let's wait and see what he says about this.

Oh, it's a variant rule in which you pick 2 classes at each level and take the best of both. So a fighter//wizard would have a fighter's attack bonus, hit die, feats, and fortitude save, and a wizard's spellcasting and will save. Combine both skill lists, and take whichever class has the most skill points.

But going gestalt means we can stay as a low number of players and still hit all party roles. I had an awesome idea for a changeling duo, I'll post later if you want to hear. heh, just remember, gestalt chars dont equal two chars, maybe 1.5 chars :p heh. a gestalt fighter/barbarian, monk/cleric or perhaps cleric/bard, and a rogue/wizard rouge/at would have just about everything a party needs.

Alright, so a changeling beguiler/recaster//wizard, giving you full wizard casting, most beguiler casting, all the trapfinding you need, plus the ability to cast your spells in different shapes and leave holes in the area. Add to that a changeling substitution rogue/chameleon//crusader and you'll have the party face, tank, and healing all rolled into one. If a trio is in place, I'd add a changeling druid//fighter/warshaper or some such to boost melee, healing, and buffs.
All changeling allows for some nifty RP, and the ability to infiltrate anywhere.

Recaster is a changeling wizard only Prestige class that lets you change the area your spells hit. So a cone could turn into a cylinder, etc. The Substitution rogue for changelings gives up trapfinding and trap sense for social skill bonuses and more skill points. Chameleon is a prestige class I was going to be- every day they can change to be a divine caster, arcane caster, fighter, trap monkey, or nature friendly. At higher levels they can have 2 at a time, and swap it in the middle of the day. A crusader is a Tome of Battle class, similar to a paladin in a way, and they can heal and buff others while attacking. Warshaper is a prestige class that is totally broken in that you gain immunity to crits, more reach, extra arms and attacks, bonuses to con and str, and so on and so on. The requirement is that you are a shapechanger, which changelings qualify for. It used to be all shapechangers had a level adjustment which balanced it, but not any more.

All warforged could work too, with a fighter//wizard, artificer//rogue, and cleric//paladin or something along those lines. All 3 can heal and buff, 2 are good in combat and 1 is the skill user.

Hmm, sounds like Fef wants gestalt. It'd require new characters anyway, and that way we can all start at the same level, as opposed to Tenkari being a bit lower due to not being around for a bit.
If we're all for it, I'll start making up either a new version of Qit, or a not-so-stupid version of Seax. Hmm, a shifter using tome of battle...

Heh, well, if you want to make sure you're allowed to multiclass as a paladin or monk there are a couple feats in the Eberron Campaign Setting that let you mutliclass with another class at no penalty, and theres some other ones around for specific combos. But, I think that restriction is generally ignored during gestalt. You still have to maintain the alignments though. I think multi-class xp penalties are ignored as well. It's a least a heck of a lot easier to ignore them, anyway.
Variant classes are still allowed- up to the DM as always. Bear in mind though, that you can't take a level of variant barbarian and a level of regular barbarian, for example. And no specialist wizard/specialist wizard combos.
Are we doing gestalt? Sounds like we all want to- but is Connavar okay with it? Don't worry, you don't need to make gestalt enemies- they just have their CR lowered by 2 or 3.
I'll mess with making.... heck, I'll get Seax back into the picture, if we're doing this. Get him some Tome of Battle, and there's a shifter-ish PrC in there too. And up his int and give him motivation. It'll be like a totally new character, but he's got a bit of background for going with the party and whatnot.

YES!!!! IM BACK!!!! Turns out my fan mount disintegrated, but funny thing is the "experts" said you couldnt fit it and I had to bite the bullet and buy a new $200 card. Pfffftttt!!! Yeah right! I always loved the soulknife, but in 3.5 they 100% can NOT be multi-classed as they turn to cr-ap. So I was thinking my fey race, with soulknife and healing abilities, but I dont like being a cleric. So does anyone know of any class that gives rogue type combat abilities (ie evasion, uncanny dodge 1 and 2, skills of hide, move silently, search, spot, and listen), but also has the ability to turn undead (and maybe aberrations).

See this is my perfect character : either soulknife for weapons (or weaponsmith), with little, if any, armor (evasion, uncanny dodge 1 and 2 <because of lack of armor>, stealth type and perception skills, the abilities of nature <my custom fey druid race got these : aka healing, and elemental/druid basic spells>, and can turn things that are not natural (mainly undead and aberrations).

As long as I can make this character I dont care what happens ^.^

Hehe. There's a paladin/rogue PrC I think that continues sneak attack progression, counts towards turning, and lets you use a turn to sneak attack undead or something. Closest I can think of.
You could go soulknife up the one side, and scout and/or rogue up the other. You'd be a fearsome sight indeed, but wouldn't have turning. A domain wizard might be able to turn 1/day, not sure.
If you go druid and rogue, theres a feat that lets you get sneak attack damage while grappling in wildshape.

well, I noticed one of the variants for sorcerer were a battle sorcerer that can cast spells without Arcane Spell failure while wearing light armor... if you took say a wizard/battle sorc combo, would you be able to cast your wizard half spells without arcane spell failure as well with the gestalt thing?

Nay, only applies to that class.
However, there is a fighter variant that you give up a couple bonus feats and gain spell failure reduction- you could go with that combined with a wizard or sorcerer.

Seax'll probably end up being a psychic warrior / some tome of battle class.
Although.... if Connavar is going to add in a tank he controls maybe I better go with Qit. Eh, I'd almost rather redo Seax though.

Yet Another Post in a row (reminds me of that one Magic card, YAAV (Yet Another Aether Vortex)), but here is Seax's sheet as far as I have it done. It needs more notes on his abilities for easy reference, and skills, and equipment, but it's what I got. He should make for some good DPS, and has d12 HD (and DR2/silver while shifting) to offset his probably low AC. This is about what I envisioned him to begin with, but with lower Int. So, Seax will actually be smart from here on out, but I kept illiteracy! He knows 3 languages but can't read or write a lick. Heh. Lemme know if it looks alright so far.

can you PM what you get at each level and all that jazz? Cause the only reason i was so multi-classed is because I couldnt find a defensive fighter class (love high skill points, evasion, uncanny dodge, maybe dual weilding, sneak, spot, search, all that stuff, but hated backstabbing, the scouts version of backstabbing, and that stuff, but I do like the druid stuff, like trackless step, etc)

It /was/ 32 point buy before. We started at level 5, but Seax made it to 6. So we should all be one of those 2. And I think we were doing max HD like DDO.

Nevermind about the Impure prince thing- It's better for non half-daelkyrs, and makes you very aberration-y. But then again, if you're only SRD-ing, then you aren't a half-daelkyr anyway.

But I'd say it could be one of your items. Get the level 2 spell version. Oh, keep in mind you have to be able to cast the spell or UMD it, like a regular wand.

Oh, Fefnir, fyi there are feats that let you make your mindblade into any kind of weapon you want. Or at least so many different feats, that I'd say you can get whatever (although it is up to Con :D). Generally speaking, you're always proficient, and the only prereqs other than having a mindblade is to make a double weapon you have to be able to make 2 mindblades at once.

Now, I've a request. All the shifter traits but ONE have an Elite feat. I'd like to have a Winterhide Elite feat.
Here's my proposal.
Winterhide trait grants +2 fort saves vs cold always, and +1 AC and cold resistance 5 while shifting. Also, for being the base trait it would give +2 Con.
Beasthide trait, the closest other one, is +2 AC, and +2 Con if its the base trait.
Besthide Elite adds +2 AC, for a total of +4.
Therefore, I propose that Winterhide Elite would add +1 AC and 5 cold resist and +1 more save vs cold, for a total of +2 AC, 10 cold resist, and +3 fort save vs cold.

Does this sound acceptable?

as in can you get a +3 mithril full plate? no. you cant get anything that powerful, but if you cant use weapons this is what conn did. The +2 is equal to a 8,000 gold item, the +1 special is 4,000 gold and the special metal is 2000 gold. But these items had to be special. Like no unbalancing or weird (like a sonic fan, or an item that could bypass all drs). but other than that sure you can get any ONE unique item per each of those three special items...

if it doesnt and you know its the video card update that screwed it up. just turn it on and tap delete til bios comes up. then turn off the video card and exit bios and save. this will use the motherboard video feed (which is ONLY good for low graphics intense stuff, ie no game, no internet, nothing, except things like office and excel.)

anyway do this and your icons will be huge and clunky but you only objective is to get your computer to do a system restore to before you did the download. do that, reboot, then turn on the card and everything should be fine.

I dont know why anyone would update there drivers. I havent for over two years and I am still screaming fast, but then again I got the 64 bit OS and it dont need constant updates as my cpu is constant dumbing down everything to 32 bits ;)

Well, got my other comp to work with the ther card, had to reformat the comp, but its working now. so now i got a 3gig intel pentium D processor and 1 Gig DDR2 Ram and a NVidia GeForce 7600 GS OC with 512MB DDR2 biult by BFG, supposedly its a custom made version of the 7600 designed for gaming. basically I doubled just about everything my old comp had

So Far everything's working, now to find out what happens when i get everything installed.

actually they where not over powered at all if i was in melee combat they acted as a 1d8+3 with dex mod weapon if i rember right and if i was ranged 1d4+3. I built my swordsage to move in and out of range of an adversary on purpose. Even without the fans she still pretty tough. The fans where given becuase she is so frail she loses -1 hp every lvl

well what else can I do? I did gianthold for 3 months before that got way too boring and then there was 2 new quests (did that in one day), then nothing, then one quest (that was hated, proof in the poison indeed), then nothing for two more month. there is only so much loot runs a person can get before hed go postal on people ;)

besides what do I do here? do quest, farm, do quest, farm, level twice every six months and thats it. I want more.

what does wow have? I can solo everything (if I wish) I can get a group in minutes, I have a HUGE world to explore, I love the classes (hate the no multi-class but wow doesnt need it, there is far too much to do), I can chose from many crafts, I can fish a low level pond and make UBER money for high level items (cant do that in ddo), each mob gives exp (if in your level range). When I die? I just get my gear damaged, no uber horrible groups making me farm exp for a week or two to recover.

I think the only reason i am here is cause dnd CAN have crafting, dnd CAN have housing, dnd CAN have so many more levels. Basically ddo HAS the potential to be the best game in the world, yet turbine isnt doing everything they can, and if they are they need a bigger budget :/

do what i do. I got subs to both DDO and City of Heros/Villians, when you get bored of one, swap to the other, i pay them both at the same time so i dont have to deactivate/reactivate.

anyway it only costs 300$ per year for BOTH games, and as far as hobbies go that is still increadibly cheap :)

My server is madoran. I did go to feathermoon for a bit (when madoran was down) but that was only for a few days and I havent been back since. My alliance guild has over 700 people in it :O

And no offensive kari, but I only have time for one game, so wow and ddo is all I got, otherwise Id fall so far behind or start thinking wow when in ddo or cities when in wow and just plain die alot :p

the only thing that would make me leave ddo, right now, is if shining force online actually became a reality, but I aint hiolding my breath (that or turbine does another one of these "3 new quests in a (what) 5 month period" jobs...)

why? cause I stayed up all night and as i was making my character (again -_-) I relized that soulknife makes no sense and created a whole new PrC, one that spec in aberration and undead fighting, so my character still isnt done :*(

okay first session was awesome (even though someone thought I didnt like it, so I must have been too much into my character :p)

and we got the following loot :

+1 cloak of resistance (all agreed bestore will get this as he was charmed or entangled 90% of the session :eek:)

and the rest of the loot :

+1 necklace of protection

+1 rapier

+1 chainmail

+1 wisdom helmet

+1 studded leather

and

mw shortbow with 25 +1 arrows

so all we have to decide is whom gets what and how much exp we got ;)

were gestalt and your will save still sucks that bad WITH a +2 resistance cloak. OMG DOOD!!!!! That is not a weakness that is a fatal fault :P

remember, im technically only a level 4 char. my base will save is 4, for being a dragonfire adept, -1 for wisdom then +2 for the cloak.

Speaking of saves, I don't understand why mine are so low either. I've got another gestalt character in another game, 1 level higher, with at least a +10 in all saves, but Arsynn here is at +5 or so.
Oh well.

She could use that +1 AC necklace though, squishy as she is. I can't use the wisdom helmet, got a head item already. So does Bestore for that matter, his hat of disguise. I could use the +1 saves cloak then, if you don't need it Fef. The rapier wouldn't do much good in my hands, with only a +1 to hit for melee (+2 with the magic from the sword). And either armor would grant me ASF, which I'd like to avoid.

trust me I dont need any saves or ac (not sure about the ac bit), and not all save will be always high. you take the highest of both classes (not combine them). I are you sure you didnt combine them with the other character? otherwise it would be ranger/wizard --> +2/+2/+0 and +0/+0/+2 (so for this level your get +2/+2/+2. If you take many classes and stagger them right you could get above a +20 to all saves just from class alone (and no I wont be that high, I get my charisma bonus to all saves and ac from my race : its called unearthly grace, look up a nymph (aka my mums ;))

I dont really want anything as I am mostly defensive and tactical, but Ill know more once I finish my character sheet ;)
