Our small guild has run the Titan raid a couple times now, but we can't seem to figure out how to complete the Twilight Forge part of the quest to get the xp and favor for it. The last time we checked off every required objective but it still didn't complete the quest. I'm not sure exactly what else we are supposed to do.

We have gotten thru to the end, and last time we had people up in the yellow room flipping levers so we could run across the force bridge to flip the levers on the platforms at the end there, which completed some objectives but we still didn't get a quest completion.

So, what are the minimum requirements to complete the quest? I've tried searching the forums and internet but can't seem to find anything but guides to kill the Titan and the green puzzle room.

advTHANKSance

I'm guessing you are completing the quest but not getting xp/favor for it correct?

This happens to us when we low-ball the forge (2/3/4-man it) all the time. What we found happens to us is that if you do not take the appropriate colored crystal acutally INTO the colored hallway, you will not get credit. It is like a "stealth" quest requirement.

For example, yesterday, we did not get credit because we green/yellow sided it and came back thru blue to get a red crystal. Then rez ran red back thru blue tunnel. Quest still "completed" to allow us to face Titan, but since our boy did not take time to go into red tunnel to "flag" hidden quest requirement, we did not get credit for xp/favor. No biggie since we were just running it for titan end items, but for those who are, make sure you at least "step into" appropriate colored hallway.

If that was your issue, hope that helps,
Borr.

Edit: if that is not the issue, let me know more information and I'll help you find the problem.

If that's the case, that would be our problem as well, I know we didnt actually take all the colors into their respective hallways... I will have to try that next time we run it.

We "complete" the quest in that we get to the end and proceed to the Titan Awakes, but we never get the quest marked off as Finished, even if all "required" objectives are completed.

Thanks, hope that's all it is.

I didn't believe it first either, thinking "whiskey tango foxtrot?", and then when a guildee explained the "stealth" requirement and we did it the next time and just ran into the tunnels to "set the invisible victory conditions" everything worked just fine.

Good luck on next run,
Borr.

You have to do 2 major things to complete the Forge that normally dont get done when you "low ball it".

1. You must complete the red tunnel puzzle. It is actually quite easy and takes about 3 min if you know how to do it, but need 3 people. If you dont know how to do it, search here I am sure there is a strat guide.

2. You must pull the 4 levers near the 4 anciant warforge to open the grates. If you have haste and jump it only takes 2 people on the yellow side pulling levers.

Normally people get crystals and run them through the other tunnel to spead up the process.

If you need some help PM me.

PS We just 2 manned it and was thinking we might be first ones, but obviously not, as previously posted :)

Yep like xymox said . And these are not "stealth" requirements, there listed in the obj window.

- Re-unite your party - that one means complete the red puzzle, as doing the quest in a 12 man makes that the only way.
- Learn the secrets of the twilight forge - Completing the yellow puzzle. The secrets are the levers and how they function to create the glowing pathway.

What doesn't need to be done:
You do not have to complete the green puzzle, or press the levers in the purple side to complete the quest. Tho its been stated by devs doing the purple side without greens help is fairly optional side its designed to make you wait until green is done and lets your thru (as the lava is not meant to bypassed/jumped by regular groups)

You could technically never go down the purple or yellow hallway, proving there is no stealth requirement to enter each hall. Just go rez purple thru green, then pick yellow, blue, red. Use beholder cookies to complete yellow puzzle.

Thanks guys, figured that we would have to do those other parts to get credit.

No. Clearly players are intended to be able to fit through there.

If it wasn't intentionally survivable, there wouldn't be a spoken narration hint suggesting you swim under the lava.

^^^^ Agrees, A high hp character (400+) with resist/Prot can survive it though. If not swim out die, res, jump on the ladder on the other side and take res.

Decent HP (230+), fire resist 30 item, fire protection, cold shield, and haste are enough you allow you to swim to the ladder and live. Don't waste time drinking pots on the way, as it slows you down.

load jump spell and go over the shield no need to swim

I don't think 400 hp characters, or wiz/sorcs with 230 are reasonable for average lvl12 groups.

While it certainly does happen almost always with todays lvl14 capped chars, it is not intended, least not for the most patient large groups.

DMText really only made sense before the deep lava change. Since that 95% of groups just jump over, then again allot of groups also rez thru corridors, use beholder cookies to complete yellow puzzle, skip red alltogether and do a number of un-intended things, or really complete what was designed for 12 players with as little as 2.

Doable and intended are very different things in DDO.

Devs are slowly learning that and adjusting tho, notable that one dev bet that his new raid for mod 5 will never be completed with less then 5/6 players.
