Earth Grab from 200 yards.

Is there any way we can get the range for the Earth Elemental attack, Earth Grab, reduced? At times I get grabbed from the other side of the dungeon. Sometimes even after death and re-entering the dungeon I immediately start getting Earth Grabbed. Maybe reduce it to standard spell range?

not to mention getting grabbed underwater :)

wasn't funny at the time, at least to me. though the other party members found it hilarious for some reason. but got held by one of the earth elementals in the final STK battle, while in the water, way back by where you drop in.

held me underwater long enough for me to drown. worse part was sitting there clicking like crazy on the hot key button to switch over to my underwater action item which wouldn't switch while underwater :D

yep you can now, but couldn't when this happened. maybe situations like that pushed them to change it ??

How about getting agro from an earth elemental on the dungeon floor below you and have him grab you while you are walking over him...fun :rolleyes:

The funniest scene ever and the hardest I ever laughed during DDO was when our guild leader left a quest just as he was being earth-grabbed. It carried over into the Gianthold town area.

He could actually move around normally, he was just incased at the top of a mountain of stone. I'll have to post the pictures, it was great.

He went into the tavern area and started talking in general chat about being 'Lord Rock' and that others should bow to him. Everyone was having a great time chatting back and forth, dancing around him, jumping on him, etc.

Still make me laugh as I'm writing this.

Can be done with other effects as well. Had a guildie walking around under the effects of hold monster once.

Anyone have any insight into how the Earthies are working?

In particular, while doing the Threnals I had a guildie getting earth grabbed(that would be you Sticky). But we hadn't even run across the earth elementals yet, they were still on the other unexplored side. First, the Earthy grab was getting her from an amazing distance (how far can they grab, it appears unlimited), second, how did did she even get agro (do they have some unlimited earth sense, sight, or feel?)?

I'm not sure it needs fixed, but I can't say I understand the mechanics, is there a Earthy story I'm missing?
