This is apart from the shooting while paralyzed bug.
This is the "last gasp" attack paralyzed mobs do. Once the attack animation starts, getting paralyzed doesn't stop the mob from 1 last whack.
Only thing that stops the last whack is death.
However, a paralyzed mob shouldn't get one last whack in, right?

I think what you're seeing is a lag delay between the mobs roll to hit and the actual animation. Meaning, they've already "attacked" and hit but the animation is a few moments behind so, between the two "actions", you swing and hit. Now the mob appears to be paralyzed but has already, in effect, taken its action and hit so in turn you get hit.
It would look something like this.
1. Mob rolls and hits
2. You roll and hit
3. Your swing, being on your local client, is seen by yourself and the mob is paralyzed
4. The mobs swing, coming from the server, is received by your client and the swing animation is triggered
5. You get hit after the mob is paralyzed
The few millisecond delay between your client and the server is what most likely causes the display animation issue.

Nope. things that do attack chains( like when ogres and trolls lunge forward and hit you 3 or 4 times) finish there attacks if they are interrupted. Its brutal on my sorc when she was low. She would Scorching ray things then dance them as they came closer, But ogres and trolls would still get two or three hits on me. I dumped that tactic in about 5 mins....five very painful mins.
