Does the righteous bonus take effect before the critical multiplier calculator on a confirmed crit, of after?
e.g. imagine I'm using a +1 dwarven axe of righteousness on a character with STR 10 - and I confirm a crit - is is my damage:
(1d10 + 1)*3 + 2
or
(1d10 + 1 + 2) * 3
Obviously the latter calculation makes Righteous weapons quite powerful.

FYI: I did some quick calculations and tests against mobs and it turns out that the righteous nature of the weapon is taken into account before the critical multiplier - this is good - this effectively makes a +3 holy righteous weapon equivalent (against evil mobs) as a +5 holy weapon. I'm even more pleased with my recent purchase of a +4 holy dwarven axe of righteousness now! :)

My main weapon is a +3 Holy Greataxe of Rightousness and I'm very happy with it. I'd venture it's one of the best weapons usuable below level 8.

I have a tendency to make fight casters and equip them with low lvl killers. My sorc/pally had a +1 axiomatic greatsword of truelaw and my other pally/sorc uses a +2 holy great axe of pure good. the former had a min lvl of 2 (RR human) and the second was 6 I think (more likely 8). She also has a frost kopesh of backstabbing that one shots fire mephits from the rear. In any actual case I love swinging that weapon around and seeing 3 numbers pop up and an enemy disappear.

Obviously the latter calculation makes Righteous weapons quite powerful. As a Dev quoted, a Holy Weapon of Righteousness is essentially Weapon of Evil Bane. Quite tasty for non-UMD Neutral characters who cannot use Pure Good and for 3/4 BAB classes who need that little extra to-hit. :)
