View Full Version : Idea: making it easier to mail un-padlocked items

My typical loot day consists of doing quests on whichever characters fit into pugs or guild groups, and then mailing the loot to my bard who has a high haggle and makes lots of money selling (the haggle 57 bonus FAR outweighs any postage costs)

The problem I find is that sometimes it's tricky to go through all my inventory looking for the new items that need to be mailed.

So... my idea:

Make an option on the mailbox so it can behave somewhat like a vendor and give the same vendor dialog box - the reason why this is better is because it only shows the items that aren't padlocked (I typically padlock all my own items). Then have a box that allows you to create a set of emails to a particular character. Not sure how this would work but the key feature would be that the dialog would only show the items that aren't padlocked - another way of achieving this would be an option that 'hides' padlocked items - or only shows a subset of the inventory that isn't padlocked.

Anyway - this would make /my/ life easier - what about yours?

I would love to see a mail function that would list all my unlocked items that I could then send to one of my other characters or guildmates, even adding multiple attachements as well.

If I'm sorting stuff away from the bank, I'll sometimes flag stuff to be transferred with the garbage can, then dump it into my shared account when I'm able. That seems to work pretty well, but, eh, I won't object to another innovation to make the administrative side of DDO easier.

I am not sure what the point is here, but if you break it down its about which toon has the highest haggle to make the most money.

STOP. you will drive yourself mad.

the time spent on trying to make the most money on sold items is time you might find a named item if you just played and had fun.

I have a haggle bard. never use it, the time better invested lookign for things i could use instead of bothering with transfering junk loot for a slighly better deal.

I don't really have any problem telling my locked items from my unlocked items.

All my bags and potions are in my first and second bag with any of my locked weapons and clickies taking up the spaces after my potions.

Everything else after that point in my bags are loot items.

You know you can already sort your inventory to show locked only, unlocked only and trash only. It's the funny little button in list view.

I don't mind this suggestion at all. and I do gladly /sign it.

But I doubt it will ever happen. Turbine wants you to buy the shared bank if you want mass transfer of items to another character.

Ya know I could go along with that, I actually like the idea. It would make life a bit easier for me as well.

This thread was started more than 3 years ago... the game was different back then and you had to mail your stuff around from toon to toon. Since they added the shared bank, it's much easier now.
