Lvl Up?

I have played a PC for several hours, and earned some XP. Now, HOW DO I LEVEL UP? I have found class instructor, and "asked" about "promotions", but he (or she, I do no remember) always says that I do not have enough XP. However, the number on my character sheet says "Rank (X)", but still says Level! What am I mising?!?

If you press the "C" key on your keyboard it will bring up your Character sheet. On there you will see how much XP you need for your next level. The ranks only refer to your earning of action points which can be used at a trainer to get character enhancements. This is usually the second response in the dialog box. Also, when you Level up, you get an extra big *ding* (the white halo is much larger), and, most importantly, your xp bar turns from purple to blue. This happens when all 5 "dots" at the right side fill up.
