i've read that elemental damage heals the golem, but what about alignment damage.. ie.. axiomatic, or maybe true chaos? anyone know if any of these heals/extra damage/is nuetral??

I think the golem is true neutral so true chaos, true law, and pure good might work on it, but not anarchic, axiomatic, or holy. I'm not 100% sure though. I'll have to try it on my next dragon run

If I recall correctly, golems are not true neutral. They technically have no alignment, so nothing like axiomatic/true chaos will work on them.

Just grab your most damaging adamantine weapon and you'll do fine against him.

Only fire damage should heal it, maybe shocking, but frost and acid should be fine. Golems are indeed true neutral, only do to a lack of having any thought to actually have an alignment other than that (like animals. they didn't choose to be TN, they just are). Extra alignment damage should never heal anything.

I believe golems are immune to a lot of magical effects, including alignment damage.

Nothing fixes up a golem quite like an adamantine greatsword. Really does cut them to shreds. Even at level 9, my fighter could solo iron golems on elite with nothing more than a +3 adamantine greatsword.

Do you mean Arach's Knight?

I believe its immune to all elemental and alignmental damage, and elemental heals it. Its not a regular golem, but most golems are made to be immune to magic damage. You need Sonic Resistance and Protection if on elite. Use "vanilla" adamantine weapons or Construct Bane weapons.

The Golem at the end of Von 5 will be immune to any alignment damage, however this damage will not heal him.

Use non elemental adamantine weapons or gtr construct bane weapons.

how about a greater construct bane?

how about a greater construct bane?

Depends on the weapon's other effects. The greater construct bane part will work, but the weapon's main damage may not take effect.

One of my guildies has a flaming dagger of construct bane that he uses... He claims that the cure from the flaming part is outweighed by the damage from the bane part, and the extra "to hit" that he gets out of it.

I wouldn't use it myself, but... To each his own.
